Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Comment by Terry (ship 12, div 096) on March 8, 2011 at 4:44pm: While talking to son about 20 minutes ago, he had gotten off the phones so that other recruits could make their calls "I'm a sailor!" as they had just finished Battlestations. He didn't say which divisions though. That was roughly 1400 CST.

He has told me that he is a grad 'n go as he will have to get on the big white bus, after the ceremony and seeing us for a bit, so that he can officially move over to A school and check in. He said it might take an hour or so before he will be released, but no definite times on anything. And if there's one thing I do know is that the military (no matter which branch) runs on their own time and you learn to go with the flow on that.

Comment by mysteryfan(ship 12 div 102) on March 8, 2011 at 4:24pm: Just got my "I'm a Sailor" call! Sounded really tired but happy. He said not everyone as individuals passed BS, but all the teams did ,so everyone in his division is graduating. Congrats to us all!
