Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

yea mine rushed off the phone too, he sounded so miserable but i think it was homesickness lol

just got my call it was about 20min long and i could barely hear him lol but it was the best phone call ive ever gotten

While talking to son about 20 minutes ago, he had gotten off the phones so that other recruits could make their calls "I'm a sailor!" as they had just finished Battlestations. He didn't say which divisions though. That was roughly 1400 CST.

My son is going to A school in GL. He has told me that he is a grad 'n go as he will have to get on the big white bus, after the ceremony and seeing us for a bit, so that he can officially move over to A school and check in. He said it might take an hour or so before he will be released, but no definite times on anything. And if there's one thing I do know is that the military (no matter which branch)  runs on their own time and you learn to go with the flow on that.

Just got my "I'm a Sailor" call! Sounded really tired but happy. He said not everyone as individuals passed BS, but all the teams did ,so everyone in his division is graduating. Congrats to us all!
