We were in our seat at 730.  it started at 9..and was over at 10:30 (we only had 7 divisions). by the time they run back to their ship and get stuff..and you are off the base its 1130.  if they are not g&g... you can keep them till about 8pm and have them back on base at 8, cause they have to make it back to their ship and do their stuff before 9pm.  so you have alot of time..   your sailor will know the rules..and they can change.. some in past pir groups had to be back on ship at 8pm.  make sure you know before you leave.. (listen to other sailors in his division too, incase your sailor is one that doesnt alway hear everything..lol)  my son and his friends met outside the nex (which closes at 8) and socialized with each other and the parents before they walked to their ship.  ALSO forgot to tell you this..there is a LITTLE nex on base, but a bigger one down the street.. go shopping and get you some stuff for cheap.  They have Victorias secrets Navy stuff there, michael korr, ugg boots, etc.  It's a cool store.  You might find a good graduation gift there...or you can buy a nex charge card for your sailor to use at his next station.

PIR is from 9 - 10:30 am.  Yes, you should have lots of time after PIR with him...unless he is GradNGo to Great Lakes A School..then he moves over right after PIR and you pick him up there later.  Their curfew at RTC and A School is usually 8 or 9 pm.

We need to know that if they have made it this far it will happen it is just a matter of time.  I am going to read Sherlock Holmes( my son gave the book with all of the stories in it for Christmas and I just keep plugging away) so that I will feel a bit closer to him maybe and drink some chamomile tea.

Our sr's are Navy strong and will do well.

Does anyone know how long PIR is? Will we have time to take our son out to a nice dinner before having to get him back to base for curfew?

GBsMom:  I can't imagine that he didn't go through last night...had he failed his PFA before BattleStations, he would have had to call you.  Maybe he had watch?  Hopefully you will get that call tomorrow!  Claim what all said...that the whole division passed and onward!  Praying for a call tomorrow for you.

As far as I know tonight's the night for Div 101. Don't know if i'm going to get any sleep, i've been stressing over this for the last few days. I definately find myself praying more than usual these days - which is never a bad thing.

Our 916 division didn't get their "im a sailor" call till the day after they completed it because they were out of time.  916 got their Im a sailor call 3pm thursday the day of the meet and greet..crazy huh?  sometimes things happen and it seems we  had our share of "happenings" in our pir group..ugh.
