Dianne, Don't the recruits get to call right away if they are ASMOED?
Comment by Tiff'sMom (Sharon) on March 5, 2011 at 11:42am

Txlady.... he told his sister they have to be at the airport at 2:00am and then the wait will start!  They will let you go back and sit with them until they actually fly out.  Ohhhh and you can stuff him with McDonalds and whatever else is in the airprot! haha

Anthony'smom... my daughter thought she was going to be delayed also (she had shin splints in both legs) but she called two weeks before saying this may happen.  Jonathon (the Nuke in now) also called his family last weekend informing them he may not PIR) so as you say, no news is good news! :)  We didn't know until Weds before PIR if Tiffany had passed or not, it was agonizing!

Hey Lala!!! :) :)

I'm praying, and I'd appreciate it so much if you ladies do as well!!! And if anyone hears from their son in my division, could they ask them if an E-2 whose name starts with pat didn't pass? Or have them tell him to CALL HIS MOM!!! I need to talk to him as I STILL haven't gotten the password for the gate pass either...I will be so disappointed if I don't get to go see him PIR on Friday!!!

AnthonysMom:  Addiing on to Betsy's answer below....when they are asmoed before BattleStations for not passing the run/swim/etc....they are given multiple chances to pass it after that.  One SR was held for over 3 weeks past her PIR before she finally passed her run, but she did it!  She then went through BattleStations with another PIR group and was flown directly to her A School (no PIR).  So...keep these SRs in your prayers!  Because they have almost made it all the way through...they just need that extra push!

Asmoed means that they were set back a week or so.  There are different reasons that a recruit could be asmoed.  Some reasons for it, could be the recruit may have an injury which needs more time to heal or they may still need to pass a run or swim test, etc.

Got my Ribbons. Can't wait to Proudly wear it Friday. Less then a week now ladies.

We are going to be staying at the Ramada but probably won't get there in time for the M&G (plane gets in a 6:45, have to get the rental car). If any of you are also staying there and would be willing to hang out in the lobby I would love to meet you. Wear your Ribbons so I'll recognize you.

Another mom said her son a few people were ASMOB/ASMO..but I have no idea what that means!!???
Comment by kathryn56 on March 5, 2011 at 10:50am

Hi! AnthonysMom, I hope you get your call today and find out that there was a perfectly good reason for the delay.

Congratulations to all who have passed! My sailor goes tomorrow night, so I will be part of the group with cell phone glued to my side on Monday.

Thank you for your words, Tiffsmom. That poor young man. He has a lot of goodwill directed toward him.

Friday is coming!!!!
