Alicia- Thanks so much I am so glad you love your PIR ribbons and I can't wait to see pics of you all wearing them. For those who ordered ribbons thank you so much. Be sure to check in the box for a free Navy Scrapbook embellishment. It seems some people didn't know it was in there and it almost got tossed lol.
Hi Sharon, (TiffsMom), it is so good to hear from you again. I am so sorry for your friends son. It sounds like he is definitely a strong young man; exactly what our great Navy needs. Congrats to both of "you" boys on a job well done. Bravo Zulu!!!
Good to see you on her, Tiff'sMom!
How tragic for your co-worker's son! Wow....what a strong kid to keep going amidst such tragedy.
Thanks for encouraging these ladies! We know what lies ahead for them, right? It is truly a remarkable experience. And extra special hugs for your co-worker's son...I know there will be a dad and aunt "in the midst" of the PIR ceremony...who are quite proud of him!
Sorry to crash your party... I'm a veteran (young) navy mom, my daughter PIR 10/1/10 but I have two very special boys in your PIR! :) :)
Jonathon is NUKE and dated my oldest daughter and enlisted in the Navy a week after my youngest daughter, Tiff, did, we have known him for over two years and he's like a son to me. He did not pass his first or second PT but his dad got a call today, he passed and will be graduating and then leaving on Sat Morn for South Carolina the day after PIR...
My second boy is a co-workers son, he was delayed going in, his father was very ill and they let him wait a week to go in but had no choice but to take him (per contract) so off he went. His dad passed away while he was in boot, the Navy sent him home for three days for the funeral and then showed up at his moms house to return him to boot, the day of his aunts funeral (his aunt died the same day) but he kept on and will be PIRing on time also! :)
I just wanted to tell you ladies (gentlemen) this will be the best experience you have had since you either married, gave birth or brought this loved one into your life! :) I wish you all well and as they say, take plenty of tissues, I cried before our car even went into the base and by the time I saw my daughter, I was a bawling fool!!! :) :) Best of luck to your sailors!!!!
