My two older brothers joined the Navy 30+ years ago. Don't remember her going through the crazies I'm going through. I was only 12 when the first went through. Oblivious due to age probably. Bet she would have loved having this kind of connection. I'm going nuts waiting for that final phone call. Maybe they did things different then. Won't get our call till Monday and am just waiting for it. Congratulations to all of you that have gotten the "I'm a Sailor" call. I know you are all as proud of your loved one as I will be.

Wow a huge policy change for them

Jessica, that comment from Angie about a policy being changed for A-school in the GL that all sailors must return every night...how accurate is this?

Because I have read a lot of posts saying if you're sailor is grad and go to the Great Lakes then he'll be allowed liberty all weekend and wont need to return till sunday evening.

Can anyone fill me in? Will he be getting over nights?

diannep - Is there an approved mop for use?

I did so good today, did not cry during his call (he does not know of my phone fiasco) until he said he had to go, then it started, first the hurried flood of "proud of you, see you, miss and love you" holding, holding - nope, broke out crying... then laughing as he told me sternly, No crying allowed in his funny way.

Thank you all for letting me know I shall not be alone in my lil puddle ~ These are tears of joy and pride in our service people and country ~ HooYah!

Message from his cousin who was going to attend and now deployed tomorrow:

Congratulations Hunter. You should be proud of yourself. And know that the rest of us are. You are not only joining the military, you are continuing our family tradition of serving our country and communities. I was trying everything I could to be at your graduation. I'm sorry I'm gonna miss it. Know though that I am proud to be your cousin.

I didn't wear any makeup to PIR, for that very reason and did not sleep a wink the night before.  Boy, was I a sight to see.  lol
Comment by diannep on March 3, 2011 at 10:00pm

Ok, I confess....I was one they needed to mop after at PIR...I cried the entire time I was in there...which was about 4 hours!  Because I started to cry as soon as I entered the hall...just couldn't help it.  So lots of kleenex, waterproof makeup, and a big smile for all of you!

Ok, so I'm going with 93, 94, 95, and 96 going through BattleStations tonight.  Hope that is correct!  Lots of calls tomorrow....HOOYAH!
