FOLLOW THESE STEPS TO GET STARTED:

Choose your Username.  For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either).  Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username.  While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Make sure to read our Community Guidelines and this Navy Operations Security (OPSEC) checklist - loose lips sink ships!

Join groups!  Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself!  Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind.  In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships."  OPSEC is everyone's responsibility. 

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.  

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

Anthonysmom then I would suggest you call the PAO office on Great Lakes, or could your son have sent the form letter to someone else?  go to http://www.bootcamp.navy.mil/

Anthony'sMom, if your son calls again before PIR, you need to ask him what the password is for the gate pass or write to him and ask him to send it to you.  If you are driving on base for PIR, you will need that pass, but in order to get it, you need a password to print it from the RTC website.  That information was on the form letter that you were supposed to receive.  Here are the directions.

I've just printed out our passes..... It's easy if you have your form letter.

Anthony's mom, I was going to ask the same thing. If you received the form letter, all the information is in that. We won't be getting anything else regarding PIR.

My son is supposed to graduate on 3-11-11 and I have received no information at all as far as exact location, time, etc...Can someone please help????
