Hi all!  I thought this might be a good way for us to connect!  So took the advice of some other moms.  Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

If anyone has addresses of SRs in boot who aren't getting mail, please send me their address. My mom and I would like to send them letters with words of encouragement. My boyfriend is boot camp right now and I leave for boot in August. I couldn't imagine not getting letters during boot camp; that would be really hard to see all the other recruits getting mail and you none. Let's all try and send them letters this week!

Count me in on writing to SR's not getting mail! Just let me know who and where!

Our son said there are some that don't have anyone one to call either. (I know one was a foster child.)

This week we have had 3 letters....short and to the point. Not much chit chat from our son. Also let me know who's who but only by last names.

diannep - I love statistics and reports! May take a while to commit them to memory. Ha ha ~ eventually I get it. When we first moved from Hawaii it took me 2 years to stop saying Mahalo for thank you. LOL

Can't wait to go back home...

If you all get addresses of SRs not getting mail, just hit the "Send Message to Group" prompt at the top of this page and send out the SRs name and address to everyone in this group.

HapsMom - that is so great that they like we are connecting! I wondered if they were okay with it.

Same thing happened to my SR, dry socket and a piece of tooth remained which prolongs recovery. They re-pack it and they are like new in about 10 minutes so he is right. No big deal! Just glad we did right after Thanksgiving.

Yes, HuntersMom:  They sell the phone cards at the NEX.  My son was in the middle of talking to me when his ran out!  He was at the NEX, so bought another one really quickly and called me right back.  You should have seen my face when the phone went dead!  Was happy that he called back.

And, yes, it is true that 1 percent are in the military.  I am going to try and get some other statistics for you....that start from when our SRs tried to enlist going to when they become sailors.  Arwen had posted them once...I'll message her.  You will be even more proud of your SR when you realize how many try to get in and can't!
