Hi all! I thought this might be a good way for us to connect! So took the advice of some other moms. Hopefully we can get information on when we start receiving calls and letters and other info!

YMM + everyone, That is such a beautiful thing that you did! What a mature young man to write back with such care and eloquence! I have not received a letter in a while and am grateful to you and everyone else for sharing...
However, I did get an amazing 'Thank You' card. It came as a complete surprise! Here is the story. Last week while on the Hwy to a very important meeting I heard "HONK HONK HONK for about 10 minutes. The exit off 95 was being partially blocked by an out of order car with no less than 100 + cars filled with able bodied persons passing & honking? I pulled in front of her, proceeded to go back, tell her exactly what to do, and pushed her as far as I could to the side of this 45-degree incline ramp. Took her to a gas station, she had no money or CC card and I did not have much. They wanted $15 bucks for a can, so I improvised, got gas back to her car (broken gas gauge) and it still would not start, YIKES! While my truck was running I, (HONK HONK HONK still going on!) pulled my battery out and put it in hers and viola, it started! Swapped batteries back, told her to go home quickly & buy a new battery then rushed to make my appointment, which was a success. Immediately following that meeting, I got my one and only 21-minute call from my SR. What a fantastic day! The thank you card had an Am Ex gift card as well as a gracious message of gratitude about how refreshing it was to meet someone who actually helped a complete stranger. Now, I am not tooting my own horn here - pun intended. I just know that this group (as well as the others whom have and will go through BC) has taught their children the same core values by action and example. I am thankful for ALL of you, your young men, and woman who are on their way to serving the greatest country in the world U.S.A.!
YMM, that is awesome. I did the same thing and it was so good to hear from other recruits who were spending so much time with my daughter. It made me feel so much better. Sometimes the letters do get delayed especially when there is a holiday during the week. Hang in there, it won't be long now until you can put your arms around them and give a kiss.
Did y'all not have a countdown clock?
