YMM + everyone, That is such a beautiful thing that you did! What a mature young man to write back with such care and eloquence! I have not received a letter in a while and am grateful to you and everyone else for sharing...

However, I did get an amazing 'Thank You' card. It came as a complete surprise! Here is the story. Last week while on the Hwy to a very important meeting I heard "HONK HONK HONK for about 10 minutes. The exit off 95 was being partially blocked by an out of order car with no less than 100 + cars filled with able bodied persons passing & honking? I pulled in front of her, proceeded to go back, tell her exactly what to do, and pushed her as far as I could to the side of this 45-degree incline ramp. Took her to a gas station, she had no money or CC card and I did not have much. They wanted $15 bucks for a can, so I improvised, got gas back to her car (broken gas gauge) and it still would not start, YIKES! While my truck was running I, (HONK HONK HONK still going on!) pulled my battery out and put it in hers and viola, it started! Swapped batteries back, told her to go home quickly & buy a new battery then rushed to make my appointment, which was a success. Immediately following that meeting, I got my one and only 21-minute call from my SR. What a fantastic day! The thank you card had an Am Ex gift card as well as a gracious message of gratitude about how refreshing it was to meet someone who actually helped a complete stranger. Now, I am not tooting my own horn here - pun intended. I just know that this group (as well as the others whom have and will go through BC) has taught their children the same core values by action and example. I am thankful for ALL of you, your young men, and woman who are on their way to serving the greatest country in the world U.S.A.!

I am so happy to hear  that you all got letters today.  Thanks for being kind enough to share your news with us. 4 obstacles down this week!  Just 2 more to go!  Can you imagine how exhausted and relieved they must be tonight!  Hope you all get calls this weekend.  Have a great weekend!

I'm glad you got a letter lorletta.  My son is in this division and its so great to hear they are doing so well.  Did he mention when they might be doing Battlestations?

I got a letter!!!!!  It was just one page but packed with info.  He said they had their pictures taken individually and with their divisions last week and that he ordered the big bundle.  He also ordered a yearbook for me.  He sounded really good and said their division was great. Said he didn't have to have his wisdom teeth pulled because there were no issues with them.  And the best thing was he said he loved me and missed me!  So happy!

Usually get a letter on Thursday or Friday, but didn't today, I'm guessing because the mail didn't run on Monday. Only 2 more weeks, but I feel like time is dragging on FOREVER, and it gets harder everyday.

YMM, that is awesome. I did the same thing and it was so good to hear from other recruits who were spending so much time with my daughter. It made me feel so much better. Sometimes the letters do get delayed especially when there is a holiday during the week. Hang in there, it won't be long now until you can put your arms around them and give a kiss.

Did y'all not have a countdown clock?

Like several of you, I didn't receive a letter from my SR. However, I received a 3-page letter from one of his division mates who I wrote to because he wasn't receiving any mail. He told me that my son is a great person and friend, so I should be proud! What a wonderful thing to say to a mom. This SR wrote so intelligently about his plans and Navy career. I am proud that Div 98 will be sending such fine young men and women into the Navy.
