Jean, I know. That's my biggest fear. Being on the road and missing that call. Hopefully he will have gotten my letter that told him which phone to call depending on what time it was (and of COURSE giving him my cell # again - JUST IN CASE) lol. I don't think any of us are going to get much sleep until PIR. Good luck! I'll be praying for ALL of them & us!

Hi Renee. I also got a call last Saturday (FINALLY). It was my first (and only call so far - ugh!). It was a short 5 min. call (guess he was gonna call his best friend & his girlfriend so had to cut it short), but I was so thrilled to hear his voice, I had to refrain from crying (at least until AFTER the call). Got my scarf all packed and ready to go! From what I've been reading, they're not allowed any PDA's (Public Displays of Affection), with PIR being the exception. We're allowed a big (quick) hug and a peck on the cheek. (OMG Hold me back!!!! lol) We cannot "hold hands" but can put our hand in the crook of their left elbow (their right hand must be free at all times to salute even off base). Another tip I heard was that if they're talking on their cell phones, they CANNOT be walking (also heard that goes for US as well, but not sure on that one). Can anyone confirm this? OMG!!!! LESS THAN 5 DAYS NOW!!!!

Praying for battestations tonight. Try to get some rest tonight, moms, because you will be very excited and anxious waiting for that call tomorrow! Remember, they start coming between 2-3 pm EST and continue through the afternoon, maybe even into the evening. This was the longest call I received from my son at bc!

By the way, ladies, you don't need 4 parking passes unless your group will have 4 vehicles going on base. The parking pass is for your vehicle. If you take the shuttle from the hotel, you don't need it (although I confess that I had one in my purse!)

maussie: That's strange about the parking pass. You have the password, right? The one sent in your form letter? If you continue to have problems, I would call the PAO or e-mail them. I had to contact them since my son's PIR date changed, and I never got an updated password. I communicated by e-mail (address in the form letter.)

maussie thanks for responce i am beside myself. his family is not thinking right and we have told them to NOT try to contact her and they said we want to find out what SHE did wrong. the family system is dysfunctional ( of course who's is not) but she has BS coming up and if they mess with her head i dont know how she will do. she is very co-dependent that is why i am so thrilled about the Navy. they can give her new life.

Has anyone else had trouble downloading the parking pass? All I get is a blank screen.

Barb, I don't think they can bother her the last week. They won't be allowed to contact her. No worries there.
I'm sorry you don't have a good relationship with your new son-in-law.

susie good for your son and the div winning captains cup i am sure he will do fine on the BS that is great. i have not heard from my daughter her husband is on his way to chicago now driving going to stay with family i think. i am anxious did not sleep last night. other things going on with her hubby that are upsetting to me but i have no control over any of it. just hope they leave Rachel alone so she can focus on herself and get through this last week. i guess her division goes Monday night so will hear tuesday. i guess that is all. congrdualations to all who have heard and prayers for those who are waiting
