Yes, plan to stay through Sunday at PIR weekend.  Just in case...plans change so even though your sailor may tell you they leave out on Sat...plans can change.  You don't want to say goodbye to your sailor when he/she still has liberty left.  So cover all bases!

Hello everyone! I just found this site today and have found so much helpful information about everything I was wondering about. My boyfriend is in DIV 811 and I may be traveling alone from the west coast to attend his graduation. My first major trip alone. Quite scary, but I can't wait to see him so I'm also excited about it.

They get a 2nd chance, talally:  Then if they don't pass it, they could be asmoed (setback) until they do.  That would put them out of their PIR group and into another one.

I am going to start stalking my mailman. lol No letter today either, but i have no doubt that soon our time will come!! and then time will fly! PIR HERE WE COME!
Comment by Brandis_Mom on April 6, 2011 at 8:12pm

talally, they have special programs for Sailors who have academic problems, so I would not worry about passing academic tests at the moment.

Well girls, no letter for me today either, but I was only hopeful not really expecting one, but a surprise would have been good.  So like the rest of you, we will hang tight and still check the mail daily for that "just in case"...

OH boo, no letter today :( Maybe tomorrow??  I havent checked the mailbox this much since i was in high school when i was waiting on acceptance letters!

Wow, lots of great information over the last couple of days... things I have learned by reading your posts and comments...

* I AM NOT THE ONLY ONE WITHOUT A LETTER!!  :) LOL, You don't know how good that makes me feel. I know that sounds silly but really, most of us are in the same boat (haha, pun intended).

* Go ahead and plan away, especially if it makes us feel better and productive, just makes sure we know change policy...

* You all are awesome! I rarely post, mostly just like to read everyone else's  comments, it helps me to know that what I am feeling is perfectly normal (she says with tears in her eyes).

* Keep telling yourself...no news IS good news! (yeah, right)

Hang in there, Proud Moms!  The letters will come!  I visited with the local Navy Reserve sailors today to get my "uniform fix."  If you could hang around a bunch of sailors with such a positive attitude, I think it would reassure you that your sailor made a good choice (I know you know that, but it really would make you feel good.).

My husband is in Ship 07- Div 178. I miss him dearly but I'm making it! Does anyone else have someone on this ship/division?
