triscious:  You may want to move the PIR 5/20/2011 part to the beginning of the title of the group rather than the end.

ccross= that is  great to hear. I have a niece that is going to BC 4/22 approximately one month after our son started. It is neat to know that they may run across each other once in a while!!

Well here it is the beginning of week#3!! Maybe we will get letters this week! My husband and I are coping very well, but B's GF is really having a tough time. Sunday was my hubbys birthday and we invited her to share in the day with us...she seemed so relieved to be close to us. Bless her heart.

A word of advice for you is to not make any travel arrangements until at least half way through BC as many things can change the PIR date for your recruit such as injuries, discharge, illness and many other things.  Do not stress about this, I made my reservations 1 week out from PIR and got great rates on everything.  When thinking about flying look into flying into Milwaukee as it can save you lots of money and is the same distance to the base as from Chicago.  You are just beginning your journey and will learn so much on this site, if you know what job -  Nuke, SAR, etc. join those groups also and you will learn and make more new friends.

I would wait just a little longer before you start making plane reservations to be on the safe side, if someone is going to get sent home it is usually during the first few weeks for many reasons, most will PIR on time but there is always the few that do not.  You will still be able to get deals.  Lots of good places to stay around the area.

I'm still working on plans but think the Ramada sounds good and seems pretty close to RTC.  We have so much going on that same weekend I'm afraid I will be the only one going :(  One graduating from high school the same day so hubby will go to that one. Older daughter starting new job out in Colorado - go figure and youngest son doing hs finals.  It's crazy!

We have our reservations at the Ramada for the grad.  That is where the meet n greet will be!  Im so excited.  we were at the motel 6 and my youngest want to stay at a nicer place. (he always gets to sleep on the floor)  but this room has three queen beds in it. It is for 6 people.  Will will have so much fun, whats everybody elses plans?

Yes, My son is in Div 811.  Have not heard anything from him yet.  Waiting for that letter.  Anxious to hear how he is doing with PST, he felt prepared.

It's good not to be at the end of the line!  Yay for those that got real letters! Does anyone have a loved one in Div 811?
