Greetings Gals!  Hope that you are all doing super today! We have not received any mail yet, but his gf said she got a quick phone call and he actually posted his PIR date to his friends on Facebook! He must have got a couple extra goodies! So proud of him! We are still trying to get more details as to what he will be doing in the 900 Div. I cant wait to find out! It looks like our group is growing!! I have sent out 4 letters this week. I love being able to send him mail!! Can we send stamps, paper and envelopes to our SR's? I think it would encourage him to write more letters if I can. He has never liked to write longhand before...it could be interesting to see how he does.  Hope you all have a great day and evening. Hugs to you and yours from me and mine!!

CorpsmansGirl:  Receiving that first letter or phone call makes a huge difference!  :-)

Navyvet- yes it was harsh.... but we are supposed to be tough right?? Thank you for all the support ive been getting its hard but as soon as i hear his voice again or get that first letter EVERYTHING will be put to ease! :D I just can NOT wait! I think I need to wait for my friend whos bf is going to basic for the army in june to see how she feels when it comes time for him to leave. Im hoping they can make it through. Have a good day all! I have to get going to work!!!! ugh!

corpsmansGirl08 wow that was really harsh from a stranger, let me tell you it isn't easy, I married my husband when he was still in the Navy, it wasn't easy but there is a lot of support out there you will find you have more from the people who are going through the exact same thing. There are all kinds of groups for Navy spouses, and you have us. My best friend back then was a girl that I was stationed with we both got out but our husbands were still in. No one knows what your going through unless they have been through it.

Well spend as much time on here as you can, and you will become so close to some of these ladies that you will will share phone numbers and start chatting on facebook and texting and talking on the phone. And if you ever need someone to talk to let me know. I will gladly give you my number and I will talk to you :-) Maybe I can connect you to my Sailor/daughter. Not only has she been through bootcamp and knows that side of it but her husband went to bootcamp after she did so she knows and understands this side of it as well. And the pain will get easier once you start getting all the letters and calls. Hang in there it will get better. :-)

dianne- yes i am a member of that already, thank you :D

Lala- I have found some friends on the other site but it stinks having to talk to them through websites ya know. I wish I had them with me at work all day when im thinking of him being gone, or when im driving alone and one of the songs that remind me of him/us come on...thats when i need someone that understands...sigh i know itll be worth it in the end, the pain now just really hurts sometimes.

CorpsmanGirl- I never understood it either, I cried a lot when my daughter first left for bootcamp and my family looked at me like I was crazy. But the other members on this site understood what I was going through because they were all going through it too. Has your friends fiance left for bootcamp yet? If not she may feel completely different once he does. Don't vent all this to your SR, come here and vent to us. We understand and we are happy to help you through it. And if you join the other group that Diannep suggested you will have even more support from people who "know" what you are dealing with. 8 weeks seems like forever but it will pass faster than you ever thought it would :-)

CorpsmanGirl:  Have you joined the "Girlfriends" group on this site?  Not sure of the exact name...but something like girlfriends, fiances, etc.  Just do a GROUP search and see what you find.  You will find great support and understanding in that group!

Lala- You've got me completely!!! I thought all my friends and family would be SOOOO supportive with me through this. In fact its just the opposite. I was told yesterday by a complete stranger I should not date a military man because she was in the military for 8 years. :( i walked away crying. My closest friend who's finacee is going into the army i thought would be the most supportive isn't. I guess since she has commitment on her finger MY LOVE for my SR means i shouldn't hurt as much.... I don't get it? does anyone else have a problem with this??? I feel so alone but dont want to tell my SR in a letter.... dont want to get him down in Boot camp. Plus I KNOW i would stick with him through hell and high water! no one else understands though and they just cant lend a hug or an understanding nod....
