Does anyone know; are we supposed to write the article regarding graduation from RTC for the newspaper and send in a picture or does the Navy do this for us?

Hey Ladies! Hope that you, your Sailors and Families are all doing just great! B finally made it to P'cola last week and is doing Indoc and Quals for watch. He said that he has been able to  see several of the guys he made friends with in BC. That it really did make a difference going into his new ship!

Brandi's Mom...What a great set of pictures!! That is really special!

Thanks, ladies...I actually had heard this back a few weeks ago with another PIR group right after Bin Laden was killed.  But it could be because this is Memorial Day weekend too...
Comment by gfr16 on May 27, 2011 at 5:53pm
I would only assume if this is true it would be due to it being memorial day weekend. The navy did issue a security alert for the weekend on their fb page for GL.

The USO person that was with our group let the family members know when we could start going up and getting our passes and so did the person working for the airline.

I was able to go through security and wait with my bf last friday... I don't know why the security threat would have been raised any??
Comment by diannep on May 27, 2011 at 5:13pm
Were you all able to spend time with sailors at the airport after PIR?  A SR in a current PIR group is reporting that families are not allowed to wait at the gates with sailors due to heightened security issues.  Did this affect you all?
