Ruth- Thanks so much for the road info! I lived in Iowa as  girl, actually graduated HS there and went to college there as well My folks were born in a small northwestern town near Mason City and I still have a Sis that lives in Forest City. I remember the Amana's well. One of my sisters was actually born in Davenport!  Thanks for the invite for a meet and greet. I will send you a PM with cell phone info and  would love to get info to set up a stop to say Hi!!

Saying a prayer for all your sailors doing BS and that you all receive your "I'm a sailor" calls!

ColoradoConnie (and anyone driving from the west), no worries about flooding on I-80.  It's all well south of us now--prayers for all those suffering so much!  There's a bit of construction going through Iowa City, but it won't hold you up.  In eastern Iowa, if you need to stop to eat, the Amanas or Walcott I-80 are good choices, as well as Davenport.  Are you driving straight through?  If you stop for the night and are near the QC, let me know!  We'll have our own meet and greet!

Consider taking 88 after you cross the Mississippi River on I-80.  It's a toll road (not a huge cost though), but a much better road than I-80 because semis haven't been pounding it.

We plan on leaving Thursday about 3:00, so we'll be in Waukegan by 6 and hope to get to the Ramada to see everyone.

We sure have 1ProudMomma!  I remember when we were all the new kids and were so full of questions. Now we are all helping the newbies! I can't wait to meet you wonderful Ladies and Gents at PIR! We will all be converging on Great Lakes next week for the one special event that has brought all of us together as new friends and a "Family" of sorts! I can't believe we are actually on the downhill side of Boot Camp!

Love LOVE the blue candle photo.  Thank you to whoever started that one.  I can't believe that we are talking BS tomorrow!!!  Remember when we were all wondering when the letters would start coming?  Look at us now! We've come a long way baby! ha ha.

Tricsious I know what you mean about being a nervous wreck!! I know that our SR would do very well if he is 100% but being so sick right now, makes me worry for him! It sounds like the whole 927 div has been sick.  I am concerned for all of them! I just pray for all of them that they can pass and still PIR together!
