Yes, you are right about that!  My son was away on leave this past week.  While gone, his roommate left his own locker open in his room, but locked the room door, while going down the hall to shower. When he returned, he found that they had an inspection while he was in the shower (remember...my son was out of town!) and because the roommate left his locker unlocked, they failed.  Even with the door locked, the lockers have to be locked inside the rooms.  Sadly, there is lots of theft on the bases.

Scoutbeach:  They will be informed of that when they go through INDOC at their A School.  Yes, they do pay for it if they want it in their rooms, I believe. My son didn't have a laptop at A School (he had a short A School) but I have heard this from others.

Another tear jerker of a show is in lifetime. It's called coming home. It's all about surprise coming home events from all branches of the military...definitely have you box of tissues handy, but it's so heartwarming too :). Happy mothers day to all :)

LADIES! The Military Channel is showing Navy SEAL training/BUDS right now  (1 p.m) until 8 p.m. tonight (Central Time). You can see what our boys will be going through soon. It's a little scary, but I'm glad it's on. I'm DVRing all the episodes!

Happy Mothers day ladies from all your future sailors if they could they would tell you themselves.

11 days and a wake before we get to see our kids and get our mothers day hugs.

Lala thanks for the beautiful poem, Ruth you are so right it takes a special person to be the spouse of a Sailor. It amazed me how many of the guys I was in school with wanted to get married right away, I think they wanted to make sure they had someone at home waiting for them. I was in for 5 years my husband for 6, but we didn't get married until after I was out.

What a wonderful poem. Happy Mothers day to you all. My husband finally got the ok to have the day before and after off so we can make plans for PIR. I think we are going to drive from Virginia. The hotel we are planning to stay at is only 7 mins. from the hotel where the meet and greet is held. I have not heard from my daughter in a while. Just hoping she is doing well and no longer on the Ensure diet.

I know that today you are missing your soon to be Sailors very much. And I wanted to show you all how much I care so I wrote a poem to you from your Sailor. If your Sailor could call maybe this is what he or she would say. I hope you enjoy it and have a wonderful Mother's day.Love to you all, LaLa (Lora)

Hi Mom, please try not to worry 'cause
I'm doing really well,
Even though I miss you

And there’s stories I’d love to tell!

I’m laying here in my berth
On a ship that does not sail
Thinking of you on this special day
I hope you are doing swell!.

It’s been a little stressful here
The Commanders love to yell
But, it’s not as bad as you may have thought
It’s not a living hell!

Memories get me through the days
Oh, your cookies I can almost smell,
But the RDC’s would eat them up so,
Don’t send them in the mail!

It won’t be long until I see you
So please try not to dwell
I’ve really come a long way here
I’m emerging from my shell!

I’ll be dressed in white at PIR
To boot camp I’ll say farewell,
My time with you will be well spent
Don’t forget to bring my cell!

I miss you!

I love you!

Happy Mother’s Day!!!

Love, from your soon to be Sailor
