barn godess- i do not believe they are censored in anyway. My boyfriend has been very...truthful about boot camp to me lol but the letter I just got on saturday is more upbeat and he joked around a lot :D So i believe he is getting accustomed to the schedule now. 173 is starting week 3 i believe this week.

Do not send any food or care packages as they will not get them, letters only.

I got two letter today from my daughter, she sounded tired, said bootcamp was harder then she had imagined, but she is learning so much from it, I just wish May would hurry up and get here, I want to start packing my suitcase already, but hubby keeps laughing at me saying it is wayyyyyy to early....and it is, I am just impatient..

Hi Montgomery mom
I too have a son in 7/175. We are from the San Francisco bay area. I've received one letter so far no phone calls yet...but as everyone says no news is good news. Where will your SR be heading for a school?

1ProudMomma- my daughter is in the same division as yours and I just got my first letter today. She says all is good. My daughter found out that she has the sickle cell trait so she has to wear a red bracelet, dog tag and belt when she is doing Pt. Gald they are concern but I know she will be ok. She was a top gymnast and work out 4hours a day or longer for years. She also passed her swimming which was her weakness. When you write your daughter ask  if they know each other. My daughter is one of the ones carrying a flag. My daughter talked about passing her 1st inspection on friday Apr. 8th and that they would have a drill and marching inspection on 4-11 and their first academic test on 4-11.  She was also heading to the pharmacy with her bunkmate to pick up meds.

My father just wrote my SR in Div 811 a somewhat motivational letter that he told me about. He mentioned that we love him even and if he doesn't make it to SEALs we will still be proud of him. I think for those trying to be SEALS and less than half of them make it (I think) it is important to remind them that even if they don't make SEALs they still are part of the Navy and making us proud by serving their country. Its also important to not make it seem like you think they won't make it though! Sort of hard to do when you're saying you will be proud even if they don't.

My son mentioned in his letter yesterday and I quote, "Things are getting REAL up here for me now"  He doesn't go into detail but says he misses the comforts of home and to send him a "motivational letter or something but not food because they will eat it in front of me" ...so that's where he's at, LOL.  My 30 second phone call was heartbreaking but I didn't lose it until AFTER I hung up :) So in the meantime I have rallied friends and family to write and keep him/them in their prayers.

Now to figure out something motivational... a mom's task in nver done.

I've read about 4 or 5 pages on here so far and have seen no one else with someone in Ship7/Div 175.  Anyone else out there?  His pir date is 5/20.  Have gotten several letters from him but no call yet!
