I had the pleasure of having coffee this morning with ColoradoConnie and her husband as they passed through.  We won't be at the Ramada before 6, hope to make it there by 7.  Our sailor says he'll meet us there to welcome you.  Bug him, ask him questions.

This time tomorrow...you all will be (SHOULD BE---be EARLY!) seated in the PIR HALL...overcome with emotions....waiting for that BIG DOOR to roll up after the first part of the ceremony is over.  It is a goosebump moment...and those who are in the lower division numbers--seated at that end of the hall-- will have a front row seat to see the big "reveal". A sea of white uniforms...waiting to "show their stuff" to you all.  Let the celebration begin!

Bravo Zulu to all of your sailors!

At the airport waiting for my flight!! Still can't believe the day is almost here
Comment by Brandis_Mom on May 19, 2011 at 1:47am

After a long flight delay, we are finally checked into the Days Inn about a mile away from Great Lakes, the rooms are nice and the bed is really comfortable, really pleased with the room.

Looking forward to meeting everyone and most of all can't wait to see my daughter in her dress whites along with all the other new sailors.  My heart is almost bursting with pride and joy.

The sad thing, is we missed her phone call tonight, we were on the airplane and could not answer the phone, it almost broke my heart.

Lots to do tomorrow, so going to go and get some rest, it is almost 1am here in Chicago.

See everyone soon....

Mary

How bittersweet is this.....I remember making this page when Bri first started bootcamp.  I found this countdown clock and it depressed me bc the number seemed so far off and like it would never come.  Here we are 1 day away.  My sailor just called to tell me the proudest moment of her life is going to be marching into the drill hall in her uniform knowing we are there.  She brought me to tears.  This experience has been such a whirlwind and I am so grateful for you all and that we had eachother.  So excited to meet each of you and reunite with our sailors!!!! My heart is just bursting!!!
