I am fairly sure it was 811; my son said all of them (recruits) got 2 hand card entries and 3 are allowed before contracts get pulled. He stated he was the most scared he has ever been in his life but if that's what gets them to tow the line...so be it. If one falls, they all fall. It's a life lesson and one I wish more young men would learn (can you tell I teach high school?!). And yes, I'm with you, momlusvmatt, I am waiting for that phone call!

thanks, ladies, that clears things up!

Also, being asmoed changes the PIR date.

Gardening:  Asmoed means that they are removed from their division (not to return to it) and held back...for varying amounts of time.  My son was asmoed for a week for not reporting a shipmate who had "fraternized" with a girl by talking to her...and who got her phone number (which he showed to my son).  My son said nothing...but it was found out that he knew about this and didn't report it...so he was asmoed for a week.  After that, he was put into a division that was at the same point of training that he was when he was asmoed out of the first division.  That is how they do it.

ASMO - Assignment Memorandum - to be sent back in recruit training.

what does ASMO mean? My son said it happened to one of the recruits for writing a letter without permission. I think 811 is having a tough time right now. He will definitely come out a man when he's done! Still no phone call. : (

Thanks Jessica, I was wondering about the video. I will write mine and ask if he's ordered it yet..

Have a great day!
