Summer, that happens a lot. Especially in the beginning. Don't worry they will figure it out and eventually come together as a group :-)

Hey there Ladies! What great news hearing that so many are now getting  mail and phone calls!! I thought I heard a cumulative sigh of relief yesterday!!! So thrilled for all of you!  We are still in the no news group, But with our son being older and being more used to him being own his own, it is a bit easier for us. For his gf however it has been a different story!! I feel so bad for her! I just keep checking in with her about once a week, and then we both have promised to call each other the minute we hear anything. B is in Div 927 so I know that he probably no spare time to write much. I hope that he can at least get a letter off to her b/c she almost needs it more than we do!! Again so very happy for everyone who is hearing from their SR's!!! Happy Friday gang...it is FRIDAY one more PIR and we are now 1 week closer to our big day!!!

My SR did not call yesterday with her division either momluvsmatt. Nor have I received any mail. She's in div 174. Just going with the "no news is good news" mantra...

Did everyone that has sons in Div 811 get a call today?  I didn't get one.  Hope everything is ok..

Got a letter from my boy today!!! So relieved to see he is doing well. My two favorite lines were -

"It's tough here but I feel like I belong. Even though I have been put through hell with 18 hour days with barely any sleep this is still where I want to be."

He seemed to know exactly what to write to put his momma a little more at ease. I know he has a long way to go but this was a very good letter and a very good day. Although his division has apparently had some trouble with talking and has had to do a lot of extra pt he didn't even mention it...haha. He also told me he was appointed section leader, one of six out of his whole division!! So glad to read his handwritten words. I have probably read this letter 10 times already :) Now I want to hear his voice!!

I have a suggestion how about all of us that have already found a place to stay, say something about it in the above section called "Places to Stay" http://www.navyformoms.com/group/pir52011/forum/topics/places-to-st...  that way we can share what hotel information we have and perhaps even the cost of the room that we are getting, it might help others out that are still looking to book a hotel room.

I'm really glad my SR had the brilliant idea to activate his phone card before he left. Otherwise, I think he would have struggled to try and do it during this first phone call. If you're considering sending a phone card to your SR, you should definitely activate it first. It saves them a lot of time when trying to make a phone call.

I got a 30 second call from SR, it was awful, he was so upset!  It sounded like he was having trouble with the phone or maybe phone card?  Poor thing.

Got a letter from my SR today!

He sounds in good spirits; 88 ppl in the division.  They've had some intense training due to talking too much. Everyone gets along well and he's made friends and met really cool ppl.

My SR called his mom. She said they talked for like 2 minutes.

sure wish I got those 2 minutes.. :(
