I have gotten 1 letter from my son and I guess he forgot to put up his bed rail at night and the entire group had to get out of bed and put the rail up and donw in unasyn (sp?) I bet he felt bad. He also said that he did appreciate my cooking and sleeping on the living room floor after sunday lunch. I used to tease him when he snarled at what I made by telling him, " You will wish you had my cooking when your eating out of a foil bag." and he hasnt even got that far yet! lol
Well, I made our reservations at the Ramada today. That makes it really really real to me!! Can't wait to see so many of you at the Meet and Greet on the 19th! Don't forget ship 2 div 927 that means you too!! Good luck to all of us and especially to all of our SR's! I am really getting excited to get the first letter, or any news at all .... It sure doesn't take much to make me happy.....LOL
@ navyvet Our son heads for Pensicola after PIR. He is going to A school for Avionics Electronics Technician. He can't wait! Florida will be a great place to ride!
Connie & Craig -- Thank you SO much for the information!! This makes me even more excited for him :) :) Im a worrier, thats what i do.
navyvet Yes we already have our orders to get his bike to him! Where is your Sr going to school? B is headed to Pensicola after bc. He raced both off road and long distance. Last summer he raced and raised over $8000.00 for cystic fibrosis by himself in the name of a dear friend he knew from high school. He won that race also, sadly his friend passed away one month before the race. It was so brave of him, and was also very difficult. It was 47 miles starting in the flat area of the Denver area and went into the mountains. He did it in less than 2 hours! Too bad the Navy does have a cycling team!
Have you heard from your son...I am sure that being in the 927, that they don't have much spare time. I have them all in my thoughts and prayers, hoping they are all keeping up with their studies and basic training also! Go 927!!
ColoradoConnie love the new profile pic, my son loves to bike to, it's one of the things he wants us to bring him when he gets to school
AmandaR Congrats and I agree with Connie he must be doing better with the glasses or he would not be starboard watch
and Yes another weekend down hopefully we will be getting calls next weekend sometime
@ Craig You are always a great source of information! I cant tell you how much help you are to me! Wow, here we are starting another week! I am still confused as to what week our SR's are in this week. We have not yet received any mail from our son...he must really be busy! I know he has extra training being in Div 927. I am secure in knowing that "No news is good news" I am trying to follow where he is at in training...
@ AmandaR, Congrats to your guy on the honor of being selected as SWSL! Good for him! Honey, try not to fret over the eyeglass situation! He must be doing well with the new glasses or he would not be in a position of leadership. Keep encouraging and supporting him, remember things work out for different reasons. We are here to help you through...sending prayers and Huge Hugs!!
