Thanks diannep.  I will ask.  That explains why I couldn't figure it out. Wow,...that is a lot for the Navy Recruit Comman to keep track of.

Yes, we have heard that the gov shutdown will affect military pay as far as when they get it.  They will get it all back eventually.  I had also heard that they would be paid on the 15th, but only pay through the 8th if the gov shuts down.  Our newspaper said this.  My son (stationed sailor) knew about it...so I think they have been advised.  Let's hope it doesn't come to that.

And, I agree with your 1ProudMom:  The miitary personnel have enough on their "plates" without this....

Prayers for your SR, amandarenee!

1ProudMomma:  When you hear from your SR, ask what day is Day #1 for that division.  That will always be Day #1 for that division and their brother division.  Weekends/holidays don't count in their training.  The training days are numbered 1 through 5.  Their Day #1 can really be most any weekday.  You can then mark it on your calendar so you can keep up with what week of training they are in. Some may still be in processing days now, or have just started training.  All of the divisions in this group will not start training on the same day.  This is how they write their week/day:  1-1 (Week 1, Day 1), 1-2 (Week 1, Day 2), etc...

the first week is actually where they do all their paperwork and any dental visits that need to be taken care of.

So, I've been trying to figure out,...if they left for BC on 3/23/11....when did BC actually begin and what week would that mean they are in now?  Do they always begin on a certain day of the week?  I've just never read how that works. Thanks.

Yea im trying to hold off as long as i possibly can. As long as my ACL can hold off till after PIR, i'll be happy. It can tear the day after and i wouldnt mind so much. Thats a great motto to live by!

I can fully understand your concerns, I too have knee problems, but I am putting off my operation until after PIR, I will be there even if I have to be in a wheel chair, but I will be there as my daddy used to tell me "if God is will and the creek don't rise" nothing will hold me back.

Between his issue and my possible knee surgery in a month, this is God testing us. We are too strong to let anything bad happen.
