OMG, I can't believe it's only two weeks! I really feel kind of nervous, just hoping everything goes well, since we're so close.

Matt's letter to me didn't say a thing about the grueling IT on Saturday, but the letter to his gf Kaitlynn did. Apparently, there was some issue during uniform inspection and they all paid dearly for it by going through 3 or 4 hours of IT. Matt told Kaitlynn that they closed the windows and the sweating was bad. He said a few of the recruits fainted, but he didn't. He said whatever doesn't kill him will make him stronger. He's always been a real determined kid! :) Anyway, both letters continued to sound very upbeat and he is very excited about how well they are doing overall and how much closer they are to seeing us all at PIR!

I just checked out sailormoesgirl youtube post for 8 count body builders. This looks painful. Thank goodness these are strong men.

Jared's letter was dated the 29th and sounded so positive. I wonder what happened on May 1st for them to get a full 3 hours of PT ? What a bummer.

SailorMoesGirl I got a letter yesterday too from my brother, He also talked about on May 1st they were "F@cking With Our Heads and had everyone in there crying" I hate to hear that! As sad as it may sound I'm glad that he wasn't the only one to write about it. He didn't write anything like that in my mothers letter but I did like always read it to her on the phone last night. Makes so feel so bad for the guys, they were all doing so well and then this...

Hello everyone! I received my letters today too! I was surprised to hear that he is down 15lbs since he arrived. He is going to be one buff sailor =) I was pretty jealous when I heard about their live fire activities. I have always wanted to go to a shooting range and give an old 9mm a whirl. Anyway, Moe said he received a marksman ribbon, and may have gotten the sharpshooter one too. Not bad for having never shot a gun before!

This part I found interesting. He wrote ""I will never forget May 1st, 2010. Yesterday had to be the worst day I've experienced here at good ol' boot camp. Yesterday we IT'd for 3 hours. our RDC closed all the windows and beat the sh*t out of us. I've never sweat as much as I did yesterday." No wonder why he's down 15lbs!

He says they do a lot of "eight count body builders" as IT. I wasn't sure what those were, so I youtubed it. Here's a video for anyone who is curious: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TxQT-wZdP28&feature=related

Also he requested I send him his contacts. He told me they are allowed to wear them for graduation, and lord knows he hates wearing glasses. So I sent those out as soon as I finished reading his letters.

In case any moms/wives/girlfriends are wondering why they did not get phone calls last Friday, Moe said "So I was really lucky to be able to talk to you today. Half of my division didn't get to make phone calls because there was a total of 4 divisions at the phone center."

I feel so bad though.. He has fallen asleep so many times writing to me. I can tell when he was about to fall asleep because his handwriting gets all sloppy and kind of fades off. Then he resumes writing again the next day and apologizes for falling asleep on me.. lol I wish they could get a true good nights sleep. Soon enough I suppose... 6 Days til Battle Stations and 14 days til we see them in all their glory!

Sounds like a great letter momof5! I'm not sure about the flags but ET and EM are the possible jobs he wanted in Nukes. ET is Electronics Technician and EM is Electrician's Mate. If you google them, you'll get more info on what exactly they do. Although, I've read up and I still can't understand what it is they do! Perry was going for ET with his second choice being EM as well but his letter didn't say what he got. I wonder who got the ET positions!

Hi ladies, got my letters too... Rob also got perfect score on inspections and said the Commander is so proud of the division. Never has he had such a division at this stage of BC. Like I said, "best of the best". He said they were on to the Battle "E" and CNO Flags. Does anyone know what they are? His pink eye kept him out of qualifying for his ribbon in shooting.. (that's what he called it) and that he got EM for nuke classification. He wanted ET but there were only 2 spots and he didn't get one? Again, someone educate me on what these classifications are please! Two weeks to go... congrats to all our recruits and their families who raised them.. our Country is so blessed to have them all...
