That is so neat that Mike has been talking to Moe and Kyle.. I'm glad this website has been able to connect us on the outside world while they connect on base! I am so happy to hear that Mike is doing well and is of course impressing you every step of the way. This anti-terrorism class sounds like it should be interesting. And I hear they are scheduled for gas chambers this Friday.. they will be in my prayers for sure! And next week is Battle Stations! I can't believe how close we are...

I have to get the details on the specifics of DIV 190 on here.. such as about dates, how well they did on exams, getting flags and such because Moe has a tendency to only talk about missing me and his emotional roller coaster.. haha Thanks for the update mikesproudmom!

beatrizm...you just made my heart skip even faster than it was when I read Gloria's post. How about those kids of ours!!! I cannot wait until tomorrow to get my letter. 15 days to arrive in Great Lakes, 16 until we see our SAILORS!!!!

On the lighter side, she really appreciated all the pictures and cards. She said all the birthday cards made her birthday seem real. (I sent three on different days, and lots of family and friends sent cards, too,) She also said she got a couple of musical cards and she and a few people danced to them, it was "pretty goofy." But she also asked for magazines, newspaper articles and clippings, internet postings, Facebook comments, etc. I printed out all the birthday wishes she got on her FB page and sent those last week, she probably didn't get them before she wrote. And she says all their instructors are so fun and cool.

I got home today to find a letter!!!!! The same great news about their division earning all their flags and Chief telling them they are her highest scoring division ever, and they got a 4.8 on Drill. That was especially good news because just the week before she had said Drill was "really kicking our butts." She says they were issued their khaki shirts as well as dress blues and whites. "It's pretty snazzy. lol We look like airline stewardesses in our dress blues."
She also listed all the places she's fallen asleep: chow line, on the toilet, leaning on my rack, in the shower, in class, standing at attention while waiting for an inspection. She also says she's dropping a lot of weight but that she is not yet in crew condition, though her arms and abs are getting close. (She used to crew in high school, and they had some really tough workouts 6 days a week, all year long.)
All in all, a good letter, good news. 16 days and counting!

thanks Maggie. Thankfully they didn't get it :)

Great news on div 192 ladies. I wish our division was doing as well. I l a letter today and it sounds like one day last week they just fell apart. The RDC's told them if they were late for PT they wouldn't stop IT'ing (anybody know what that means) until he left in an ambulance or quit bootcamp. They weren't late and they made it through but he said he was terrified. Only 16 more days and this chapter will be behind us. I so wish we were arriving early enough for the meet n greet I would love to meet each of you. Hope others get letters today

I know. I was reading last weeks honor grads and there was more listed for the 4/30 PIR than I had ever seen. I made my husband come in from working in the yard to read Gloria's post. I so can't wait until PIR. Each day the excitement level just rises and rises, and I keep going back to You Tube watching past PIR's. I still get choked up watching them. My mailman better be on the ball tomorrow or else he better have his running shoes on because I am going to hunt him down.

If anyone else got letters today, please share them with us. I know that I am craving for as much information that I can get from our SR's.

Gloria, you are a godsend. I have been so depressed since Monday night and not getting a call. I was so worried that they did not do a good job in Hell Week. Boy was I wrong. Our kids are amazing, aren't they.

Just a side note. My niece's fiancee (who is currently a Sailor in Cali) and I were chatting online the other day and he was asking how Jess was doing. I told him all the good news from her last letters. He said that if the Division keeps earning flags and score very high on their tests, they entire Division can graduate with High Honors and be specially recognized at PIR. Wouldn't that be awesome for our kids as well as for us proud mamas.

I am counting down the days.......16 to go......
