I got a call yesterday while I was fly fishing on the river. What an awesome day!!

I've been feeling kinda down with our guys not getting to call us when all the other divisions were calling home. Well, I guess my ESP was kicking in this morning, cause I woke up feeling happy. Was kinda confused by that. Then, around 10:00 this morning my cell rang and it was Jason. We got to talk for 45 minutes. He sounded great. Said he's passed all test and inspections with flying colors. Said the food is great and he's eating more than ever before. He was always kind of a picky eater but I suppose all the working out is making him hungry. Told me they've lost a few guys that just wouldn't get with the program and have gained a few guys from medical. He had a bit of a cold but otherwise sounded very positive. Hope everyone else got a call, it sure will make it eaiser to get through the next few weeks. I told him I won't be able to get to PIR but he said, "No problem". He's a grad and go and is looking forward to getting on the plane and going to Flordia for A school. It's amazing how one phone call can completey change your outlook on life. t-wifey, Jason told me about the guy not getting letters getting out. They give them many opportunities to tell the Navy "everything" and if you don't then you suffer the consequences

t-wifey,

Congrats on your phone call! I received one from my son and it made my morning!

That is such a shame for that young man whose shoulder was injured. I'm sure he was just hoping it was a one time thing and wouldn't happen again. There is so much pressure and hard work for them to get to where they are and to be sent home is a huge disappointment. Thank you for updating everyone!

I just got a phone call from my husband (YAY!) and the young man that wasn't receiving any mail was dismissed because of an injury. Apparently he dislocated his shoulder & when he was in medical he said it had happened before, but didn't include that in his application. My husband said he was dismissed for falsifying documents. I feel so bad! I'm sooo sorry, but I guess there's no need to send any mail.

Everyone, have to share this with you. My youngest son, Michael, received a letter separately yesterday from his brother. Michael had a horrible day and was just coming home from a lacrosse game that his team lost. He was tired and cold and miserable, didn't even want to talk. I asked him what would make him happy and he replied nothing, just take me home. So I took out Rob's letter addressed to him from my pocket and said I guess you don't want this then. OMG his face lit up, he couldn't open the envelope any faster than he did and he started reading (2 pages, I was jealous. I only had 1 small paragraph..lol) instantly he started giggling and the giggling went on for the entire letter. He got home and ran for the paper and pen and wrote his brother back. Rob told him that he was missing his "best friend" and that that was his little brother. I cried for ten minutes. Rob has many great friends, but I never knew that Michael was his "best" friend. Michael was elated for the rest of the night! Timing is everything. I love my boys!!! Guess I raised them well....

I got the first long letter from my daughter yesterday. WOO HOO! She sounds great, likes the food and says she excels at uniform and rack check. [This from my daughter who has never ironed a stitch in her life and would do anything to get out of making the bed. :) ] Sounds like she hasn't received any of the mail we've been sending her, because her closing line was, "I love you all and hope to hear from you." And I've been sending at least one letter every day except Sundays. But she wrote her letter last Sunday, so I hope she's received some mail since then.

momof5, thanks for your positive thoughts.

t-wifey I'll write him too. I'll add you as a friend (if I can figure it out) and then you can send me his info. I pray that his mail has just been delayed, like my daughter's, and not that he's been forgotten.
