Choose your Username. For the privacy and safety of you and/or your sailor, NO LAST NAMES ARE ALLOWED, even if your last name differs from that of your sailor (please make sure your URL address does not include your last name either). Also, please do not include your email address in your user name. Go to "Settings" above to set your Username. While there, complete your Profile so you can post and share photos and videos of your Sailor and share stories with other moms!

Join groups! Browse for groups for your PIR date, your sailor's occupational specialty, "A" school, assigned ship, homeport city, your own city or state, and a myriad of other interests. Jump in and introduce yourself! Start making friends that can last a lifetime.

OPSEC - Navy Operations Security

Always keep Navy Operations Security in mind. In the Navy, it's essential to remember that "loose lips sink ships." OPSEC is everyone's responsibility.

DON'T post critical information including future destinations or ports of call; future operations, exercises or missions; deployment or homecoming dates.

DO be smart, use your head, always think OPSEC when using texts, email, phone, and social media, and watch this video: "Importance of Navy OPSEC."

He said they were taking a test on Monday and if everyone did well they would get a hour phone call. He didn't say when but he did say they get about 5 hours to themselves on Sundays. I am soo excited, it appears the mail is moving now, because he said "I love all the letters you send me, please keep it up, it makes my day" Hope some of you get a letter today.

I've only received the official Navy letter, with her address, PIR date, password and a few comments at the end. She sounds pretty good, but I'm dying to hear more. I'm new to this group. I've been trying to send a letter or note/card each day so she has something to look forward to. Have you gotten a call yet?

The MYN is responsible to RDCs for:

1. Assisting the RDCs in preparing and maintaining recruit medical documentation.

2. Coordinating appointments with the Medical Liaison.

3. Tracking the status of all special physicals.

4. Attending the medical/dental brief."

Comment by ProudNavySister(USS Sterett) on April 13, 2010 at 10:16pm: My brother left March 29th. He is in SHIP 14 DIV 194. Anyone else have the same ship and div? His PIR is 5-21-10. We all just got his letter on Friday and have already started writing him. He's not one for writing so we dont know if or when we will hear from him. I'll be mailing him a phone card on Friday so I'm hoping to hear from him by the end of next week.
