Thanks so much (: That was really helpful to read. I tried to talk to my mom about it and she didnt do anything to help she just looked at me as if I didnt say anything at all. And ill have to ask him about that, we do have a little while so thats good. I do worry about him a lot, he has left so much to do this, and I know its already so hard on him I dont want to make it any worse just help as best I can.

Nrose, I think that they have to live on base if they are not married-at least that was the rule about a year ago (to my knowledge). Ask him to look into it if he can. That's great that you guys are talking about marriage. Congrats! It's a big step. :) Just an fyi, as a girlfriend, you don't get any BAH (housing allowance) or other benefits. I don't think it'd make things more difficult for him...I know my husband would want to have me by his side whenever possible for support, etc. Keep in mind that you would be leaving your friends/family/life to be with him-not everyone is willing to do that. It's worth it, but it does have its own special set of challenges. I was on http://www.militarysos.com/ for a while, and they helped me out with some issues I was struggling with prior to my husband going into boot camp. You might want to check that site out for significant other support. :) You seem so selfless-just worrying about him and if it would create any problems. There are bumps in the road no matter what path in life you take, but you love each other, and love conquers all, right? :) Anyway, I don't think it'd create any problems...it'd just be creating a new life for both of you!

Lorie, that is so fantastic. :)

Good morning everyone,

I was wondering if I could get some advice. I am finishing up with college kind of soon (about a year maybe less if Im able to test out of certian classes) and the day my sailor, Mike left at the airport he said that he would like me to move out there with him when Im all done. I will have a degree and probably be able to find a job but what I wasnt sure about is how it would work out since im his girlfriend if he would be able to live off base? would it make things more difficult for him? I would love to and we talked about getting married when he's done with school depending on where we are at. But he really wants me out there so I want to make sure that it doesnt make too many problems or too much trouble for him.

girlsyk-Yenni's husband is in 175...but all of our Sailors have the same graduation date of October 4...so I think we'll be planning an unofficial meet and greet part two. PARRRR-TAY!
