She said that she was in uniform because that is what their traveling clothes are.  That made it worse I thought.  Here she was leaving the Navy for good and dressed like a sailor.  I thought about all of the clapping for the other sailors who were heading out.  No one would know what her situation is.

Hello Ladies, I'm baaaack! Well cannot say enough about the whole experience of PIR such emotions, it has taken my these past few days to stop crying at the drop of a hat! I loved meeting each and everyone of you. Don't forget to join PIR 6/10 facebook page so that we can still stay in touch with each other. When I saw my lttle girl I was a mess, I didn't want to let go! I can't wait to go see her in Texas.

Love you all!

One last post to say good bye I will miss this group.  I was lucky enough to spend the entire weekend with my Sailor, so got home Monday night.  We had a great time at PIR and for the entire weekend.  We didn't get to attend the meet n greet due to delays getting in so I didn't get to meet anyone.

Now I have to get back to business and in the summer it keeps me very busy.  We live in one of the cities along the Missouri River.  Although our home is in no danger of flooding there are friend and others whose are so adding to my workload is helping them when they need help so getting on the internet is going on the back burner for a while.

I am going to continue to burn a blue candle when I'm home for future SRs going through BS that they might all pass.  Good luck to all of you, your families, and your Sailors as the adventure continues.

I have been thinking of UK girl too. So glad she made it!!

Feels weird to be here again. Loved all your stories, ladies. Thanks for sharing. My dot said they released a girl that had been there a long time. I wonder if that was her. She was in uniform, so does that mean she will go back?

She also said 18 of div 200 were sent back the day of BS. So so sad. She said that morning at chow many were crying watching their division in their dress whites for PIR. I am praying they are going to grad in a few days. One was a boy that was in her group from the airport at DFW and they had kinda joked with each other cuz they were both the scardey cats in the group. So much disappointment. I guess that's life, but it makes me sad.

I'm so glad UK made it.  Whew!

I feel all hardened, no tears, and then I log on here and it all starts again. And it is GOOD!

Free, what a great story.

While we were waiting to get on our flight home yesterday, there was a sailor girl in dress whites behind us.  I was so excited and went to talk to her.  I asked if she was heading out to A School, she said no she was heading home.  It was so sad.  She had been in boot camp since September but had broken her hip shortly after getting there.  After nine months of trying to get healed up and ready for PIR, they finally released her to go home to Anchorage.  I was heartbroken for her, but at the same time, it made me realize how extremely blessed and fortunate we all were to have our sailors come through as well as they did.

MrsM, my sailor said that they sang the 2nd verse and when I googled Verse 2 of Anchor's Aweigh, what you wrote is what came up.  :)

[Verse 1]
Stand, Navy, out to sea, Fight our battle cry;
We'll never change our course, So vicious foe steer shy-y-y-y.
Roll out the TNT, Anchors Aweigh. Sail on to victory
And sink their bones to Davy Jones, hooray!
[Verse 2]
Anchors Aweigh, my boys, Anchors Aweigh.
Farewell to college joys, we sail at break of day-ay-ay-ay.
Through our last night on shore, drink to the foam,
Until we meet once more. Here's wishing you a happy voyage home.

Is this the one that was sang at PIR? I'm trying to figure it out LOL. If u ladies know pls let me know thanks
