So happy for those who received calls----for all of us that didn't, as Donna Summer sang, "WE WILL SURVIVE!"  At least we know where they are!  LOL

Yes, here4kids:  It is much more relaxing for them after they become sailors...but they still have their chores/regiment to follow.  But the pressure is off.  They still are reminded, though, that they can be held at RTC, even as sailors, so they best abide by the rules, etc.  But it is nothing like the pressure they had before.  And A School is even better...more like a college environment.

I am so happy for each of you who got calls. Easter has been tough. LIstening to the beautiful choir today and the alleluiahs was rough for me. I miss my baby girl! No phone call..... I really was hoping her RDC would let them call because of the holiday. I have no form letter yet either.

Can anyone tell me how to do call forwarding??? I thought it was *72, but I tried today and it didn't work. I can call the phone co., but I now believe you guys are more knowledgeable than anyone!

They're called RDCs!  And allysonkylesmom is correct....it is up to the RDCs in each division and not all of the division may get to call (due to time limits and sometimes SRs awarded a call for special things).  Just be ready for calls at any time!

Yenni:  You should be receiving a call from him in the next couple of weeks.  They usually get to call around week 3 or so.

I think it was up to each individual ship/div leader (I don't know what they are called) if they could call today.  My son (ship 11 div 195) said it was a surprise for them.  I wasn't expecting a call for a couple weeks.  Don't let it get you down, I'm sure you will get a surprise like that before you know it!

So feeling really down..still haven't gotten a form letter (husband left 4/13) and no call today..Does anyone know why some SRs  (who all arrived at boot camp around the same time) got to call home and some didn't?? I know that no news is good news but I still can't help but freak that I have not heard one word since he left.. (I did get the box LAST monday)...anyone else in the same boat? (no pun intended)
