AMEN, Jessica!  I saw her performance Fri night, and have watched it over several times...cry each time.  I think Carrie Underwood exemplifies "giving her all" in this song...she must have had to take a nap afterwards!  What a GIFT she is to all of us!  A very special Easter song!  :-)

Kim t(Gage'smom):  .....sigh....tears reading your perspective about the abducted daughter below.  It is amazing how it all does come into perspective, isn't it?  Lord, thank you for the lives of my children today....and "safe keeping" of those who are now with you.  May you bring peace to all moms today.

diannep, thank you for such comforting words....last week I was getting ready for work three days after my son left. And I had been worrying, crying, wondering, and wishing for contact....then a mother, from Tennessee, came on the news with a plea to help find her 20 year-old daughter who was abducted from the family driveway when she was leaving for nursing school. Perspective is what I needed and God gave me perspective....here I was crying over my son being at BOOT CAMP and not being able to talk to him while another mother was worried about the safety of her daughter who was taken. I felt so humbled and even a little silly. So although I still miss my son's voice and laughter, I stood today in church and prayed for my son to simply have peace and to feel our love and our God's presence this Easter Sunday. I know he's going to do great! They are all going to do great! Just thought someone might need to hear what I heard....God Bless!

Our son left on Tuesday the 19th, and we've gotten his box, and now, his form letter.  So quick!  I didn't expect either this quick!  Heather, he also is in Ship 09, Division 201.

On this special Easter Day....when the pain of missing your SRs is even greater because of this day....just try to be comforted by this:

They are "safe," they are fed well, they have a safe place to sleep, they are being mentored, exercised, they are being watched medically and treatment is right there for them...and they are in the process of becomiing United States Navy Sailors!  It is not an easy journey....for them or for you all.  Every emotion you ever felt will be stronger than ever now....But for those who maybe spent many nights waiting up for your child to come home, etc....worrying that something could have happened, etc...just know that they are safe and out of harm's way.  I took great comfort in this when my son was there...he had lived away for 1.5 yrs, then was home for 10 mos in DEP.  When he was away, I didn't know what he was doing, was he ok, etc.  But when he was at bc and even now when stationed, I know that the NAVY is watching out for him....

I'm sure that the SRs were allowed to go to church today...so I hope that this is a special time for them....Draw close to our Lord because He is GOOD!  And just tunnel-vision on the PIR date...because all of these worries and concerns will melt when that big door rolls up, revealing legs in white uniform pants, at attention...ready to be reunited with you all.  It is a day beyond all others and it is not as far away for you all as you think!
HOOYAH!

And....Have a wonderful Easter Day!

I completely understand. It's been tough getting together Easter baskets and having one less...

I have tons of grading to do, and I just can't bring myself to do it. I can only sit here on this site or veg out in front of the tv. It's the only thing that will numb my mind. Hang in there! We'll make it with each other.
