thanks for the tips jessicab-sailormom! very helpful!

well kim.. our boys might be doing extra pt afterall..

maybe they will let them slide since it is their first note.. they will probably just make him throw it away as soon as he opens it.. i dont know.. i read that they will pick on them for stuff like that. i sent my husband pictures, but i just printed them onto computer paper. i was worried about sending too many letters in one envelope because i didnt want it to be too thick but i think it will be fine...

I wish there were more organized information of what they are able to receive, because I never even thought about a musical card as being against the rules.

My son is going to kill us because we did send him a musical Easter card from his little sister. Hope he doesn't get in too much trouble :-(

I hope that's not true, because the letter I sent my son is a little thick (I wrote for several days before I got address), and it has an Easter card in it, although I'm sure it will be too late for Easter.  I hope I didn't earn him extra PT.

Has anyone made a topic on what we are allowed to send recruits while in boot camp? Are they allowed to receive pictures? I read somewhere that they will be able to feel if there is something 'special' in the package and will make recruits do extra pt.. is this true?

Yay!  I got my letter today, too!  Chris, I am in CO, also.  Anybody else?  I sent Kyle a journal I have been keeping for him, just until I got his address.  Now I expect he will be getting lots of mail from Aunts and Grandparents, as well.  He said he is doing well but misses us.  Made me teary-eyed all over again!
