I'm having a very hard day. My son Colton called today. He was in Ship 4 Division 814 and is now being moved to Ship 9, Div 226, he thinks it's shp 9 anyway. It was a very short call just to tell me he is being moved because they said he had a bad knee and is being moved. Please, other mothers who have recruits in shp 9 Division 226, if you get to talk to your recruit can you please ask them to say hello to my son who was joining them today. He is so nervous having to change divisions and leaving the friends he has met to move to where he won't know anyone again. I feel SO bad for him it is really hurting me. He is so disappointed to not be able to do what he joined the Navy to do.

Funny how they give them physicals and tests to make sure they can do the job before they sign, then AFTER they get to boot camp they decide they will not be able to. I just don't understand and it does not seem right. Colton signed up because he wanted so badly to do air rescue, that is the reason he signed up, and now, after all the things he did to get where he is, they get him there and say, 'oh sorry, it looks like you have ADD and a bad knee so you can't be what you signed up for and will have to pick something else.' So not right! Why do they bother to test them before hand and have them work to get where they want only to get there and be checked again or whatever and be told they can't? Why don't they check them out BETTER before they LET them sign for their rate? I understand that they wouldn't want him to be where he would not be able to do the job he needs to do, I don't want him there either. But what was the use of the tests and physicals beforehand. Shouldn't they have figured it out BEFORE they say he's ok and let him sign to do air rescue? It's not that there is anything wrong with doing something else, but to do physicals and such and say they are ok to do the job they want to sign up for, and then when he gets there it doesn't matter at all what the physicals done in MEPs said!?! I"m sorry for going on about this. I just feel sooo bad for him. And he said he didn't know if he would be able to call again till graduation. And the division he was in was getting to call today and again on Saturday, now he can't. He was trying so hard to keep it together while talking to me, but I could tell it was hard for him. It is just breaking my heart. And asking other Mom's who have recruits in ship 9 div 226 to ask their recruits to maybe just say hi to him to help him adjust is the only thing I can think of to do to help him. You know how the Mom's in us just want to help? I just want him to be happy. I know that only God knows what is best for us all, and we cannot see the big plan and whatever happens happens for a reason. So I just ask God to take care of him till WE see the plans. Thank you for listening to me rant. Thank you for just being here. I don't know where else I would go.

Jenn - See I told you, your day was going to be doubly blessed.. : ) HIGH FIVE!!! I am so happy for you... And yes my dear we know the amount of tears you are crying we feel every emotion right beside you... We cant wait to applaud your Sailor on June 25th along with all of ours.. : ) We have become a family just like our Sailors have become one with their divisions... We all rise and fall together. We are so thankful you are a part of our group.. I cant wait to me all of you WHAT A REUNION THAT IS GOING TO BE!!! The love we share for our loved ones has bonded us in a way no one will be able to understand but us.. I think that is specatcular.. : ) WE LOVE YOU TOO!!! And tell him he is welcome in your next letter.. : )

fdugan - It was so hard to stay composed wasnt it.. I cried tooo.. Dustin kept giggling that giggle I miss so much.. Then I would start crying all over again.. tomorrow will be 29 days less than a month away... The anticipation of seeing them is HUGE!!! I know when that door rises and they all start marching in DIV by DIV we are all going to start the water works...

Carl09: Your call is coming we dont know when but it is... That is one thing I do know for sure. I know it hurts so much right now and I can understand your disappointment. I know I got a call but I know how devastated I will be if they can all call next Monday and I cant talk to Dustin because he told me he will proably have watch..

Noelle: What an honorable thing to say,, You are right there are alot of service parents that dont get to talk to their sons and daughters anymore. That is a reminder of how special our loved ones are that they have choosen to stand up and say I will run in and protect this country and my family when everyone else runs out..
