NO calls here this weekend. It will be ok guys! Soon you will be seeing your loved ones. Find hobbies to occupy your time. Im a little bummed we havent heard from him but it makes our appreciation for family grow even deeper. You know the saying "absence makes the heart grow fonder"! It is true and I remember getting frustrated with my son at times and this really makes me a bit more patient knowing I must value the time I have with my children. It goes by way tooo fast!

torn to pieces aka Jenn: He won't need a quarter with a calling card. He just dials a number on the card and it directs him what to do next I believe. However, my son said that when he called and no one answered it took 10 minutes off his card automatically and emptied the card! Which seems really wrong but another person had said on here the same thing happened to her son, except it deducted 13 minutes! Luckily my son had another calling card with more minutes on it. Also, it look like most of us that got phones call yesterday have recruits in Ship 4 Div 814, so maybe they got a special phone call? Hang in there, I hope you all get phone calls soon!

My son got a 20 min call, so he split it up 10 to me and 10 to his Dad too. He also told me the same thing, that when we didn't answer it took up his whole 10 min phone card! But he had bought another one when he was at the USO in the airport to. I asked if he needed me to send him another one and he said no, he could get them on base at the NEX and he had money left from his pay or what they give them to get supplies when they get there or something. I don't know, he was trying to talk fast and I couldn't catch it all.
