I was worried about sending his contacts in a bubble envelope -- so I put them in a small box and had room for a new small bottle of solution. They asked me at the post office if there was liquid in the box and I told them what was in it and their only concern was whether it was sealed. Hopefully he'll get it.

I didnt think I could send a box...Can they buy contact solution anywhere there?

My son told me in the letter I received yesterday to send his contacts so he could wear them at graduation. He asked his RDC and he said yes I could send them. I put them in a small box with a 3oz. bottle of solution and shipping them out today.

mm20013 - You must be psychic! I just got off of the phone with his recruiter, who said it actually should be fine. He said they allowed him to keep his contacts all thru bootcamp. If anything he said they may make him open the letter in front of his RDC, but they will let him keep them. He also said, "Justin is not the type to ask for them if he thought he couldnt have them"...WOW - does he know my son better than ME?? I had to smile... :)

Justinsmom......maybe you could call his recruiter and ask him. To my knowledge we can only mail letters and pictures. I would hate for you to loose the money if they toss them out.

OH - ladies! Justin asked me to mail him a pair of contacts that he can wear for graduation...Does anyone know anything about this? I dont want to mail them at $40/pair and have them confiscated...Has anyone else had this come up?

Justin didnt mention BS21. I asked about it in the last letter I wrote, so hopefully will get another letter this weekend. Last week I got a letter on Wed and again on Saturday. He sounded very positive and he too said he wanted some "REAL food" that he "gets to choose"....14 more days!!!!!!!

mm20013- lol I'm glad I'm not the only one : )

Also, in the letters I've been getting he seams to be upbeat, well for being at boot camp. He has stayed positive threw out this whole thing. I can't say it enough of how proud I am of him!!! I can't wait to be in his arms on the 9th!!
