I asked in a letter what my husband wanted for his "first meal" (it seems like we were just having his "last meal" a few weeks ago!) He said the things he wanted most were GOOD pizza, coffee (there were several exclamation points after that one), his own shoes (which he won't get for awhile...), and to just listen to the radio. =) I think there were other experienced moms on here who said that their sons really craved pizza during boot camp, too. He said they have it very rarely and when they do it's limp and disgusting. =) Chicago deep dish here we come!

Also he mentioned the "live fire" and said it was "pretty cool". His letter was really positive. It seems like in these last several weeks they're getting more into the "meat" of boot camp and having more fun. I'm so glad!

I got a letter! Division 241 kicked butt on Marlinspike..said they have the most division flags on their ship. They began live fire training this week and have a drill-??? and zone inspection. Said he is having "fun"...wow..I never expected a letter from bootcamp with "fun" in the content. 15 more days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

good to hear that I am not the only one! I cant even imagine waiting for the "Im a Sailor" call....maybe in my case it is better I dont know when to expect it! It is not like I am going to miss a call or anything..!!
This is a funny story I will share with you all...I have a sister-in-law who drives me CRAZY and talks to hear herself talk for hours....it is pure torture..anyway, I have "missed" many of her calls in the past...(oops) lol... Now that she knows I have my cell phone GLUED to me, I cant get away with the "oh I must not of heard my phone" line....and it seems like she calls me even more now! HELP!!!

I am SO counting the days! Every time I write a letter, I tell my son...ONLY 15 more days....(knowing by the time he gets it, it will be even closer)! Is anyone else just totally obssessed? This is all I can think about lately! I have my mailbox under surveillance and my cell phone superglued to my palm....Is this normal?
