Love all the posts!!! It's funny, the moms in my PIR group all thought our kids had grown taller too - until my son said "we learned to stand straight and proud, instead of hunched over like a teenager - we are proud to stand tall Mom" - it made me cry when he said that.

So happy for all of you - thanks for taking the time during your PIR weekend to update the rest of us - can't tell you how much that means to us. Now.... get back to enjoying your Sailors and post when you return!

Did ya'll do a M&G at the Ramada? Wow, 13 people! That sounds like a record. We all are excited for your group. Well done.

I finally got online at our hotel and caught up on all the messages. PIR was awesome and then we spent the day with our new sailor at the Navy Pier. Then back to the hotel where he went swimming and then took a long shower (by himself). Going to Six Flags with him tomorrow.

He didn't perform at PIR since he was one of SRs that opens the doors for the officers -- I did see him open the door for someone when we first got to the ceremony hall and started crying. It was quite awesome to see the difference in him in those 8 weeks -- quite the young man was with us today.

I know BS-21 is sort of a sore thumb right now in some of your minds, but I forgot I had this video and so decided to post it on all the groups I belong to. Turn your sound on!

How is everyone doing? Some of you have arrived at Great Lakes, I know how you are feeling! I drove by RTC 5 times hoping I would see my son out marching (no luck!).

Any news from those with kids in Div 242? Maybe no news is good news. The Navy said in that form letter that a recruit will call home immediately if their PIR date is changed, so maybe NO NEWS is GOOD NEWS! That's my prayer, however I'm hoping that they let them call their parents with some good news too! Still praying for all of you. Please let us know, we are sitting on pins and needles!
