I am still here AND at Navy Lodge! Spent time awaiting the Marta across from RTC today. Saw recruits/sailors marching. Saw vendors coming and going. A very busy place! Saw the Hostess truck going to stock. I was told by a reliable source, that tonight our new sailors have a pizza party and a fun time planned. Yeah! He pointed out where my son probably was at that moment. Coming back from Chicago on the Marta.....I saw how huge the base is! I didn't make it to Meet and Greet. Hope they all had fun! My alarm is set for 4:30 am! I am planning on getting to PIR early. Well, gates don't open till 6...but I'll be there. Also saw the MEPS building down the road.....guess that was where the recruits spent their first week in processing before moving on down to the base. So great to be able to visualize things here now! I like to be in the KNOW!

Wow - it's always so strange to see an active group go quiet for 13 hrs, it lets you know that they are either: traveling to PIR, at PIR or spending time with their sailors over PIR weekend!

Congrats to all!!!! Please be safe in your travels.

At least I had a heads up from my son and know what to expect. He told me they already got weight with their sea bags for their flight so he can't even slip his phone into his pocket. I hope i can give him his contact when he is with us and he don't have to worry about that. We should be at the Ramada around check in time tomorrow, We might just stay 2 nights now that will save us a little money.

Talked to Andrew tonight and it turns out his flight out of O'Hare doesn't leave until 8:00 pm. Guess I get to sit at the airport with him and his girlfriend for 15 hours or so. He wants us there as early as possible so he can have his cell phone. After talking to him I am really excited and its going to be a long night and a long day at work tomorrow. Staying at the Ramada hope to get there by six. Thanks JessicaB for everything.
