Way to go for the divs that have made it through BS so far! How exciting. I am loving the bits on your calls. It makes me feel wonderful and even more eccited for next week.

I am bursting with pride and excitement, Congrats to all and when I was on the phone with my new Sailor he was drinking a red bull and eating a snickers bar and loving it. Thanks to everyone who reached out and gave me some very valuable advice on grad and go. I feel like a new woman after a 35 minute phone call. This is a wonderful feeling....

Yes, Facebook and MySpace updates are common these last few days if your recruit has finished BS-21. And if you have access to their bank account, go online and you'll see lots of little charges at the NEX for the junk food they are buying (chocolate and Red Bulls) - things they haven't had for 7-8 weeks!

You may also see a $45 charge from a different Navy vendor, I think it's called MV Events, can't quite remember - but it's for a special sweatshirt they some choose to buy that has their division logo/design on it. Each division designs their own special emblem and there are usually more than one artistic people in a division, so they turn out really nice. That same design will be transferred on their division Flag (you'll see it at PIR) and on the shirts too.

sssusanmike5: wow, that's a hard user name to type! hope I got it right!
Go to the Grad & Go Info group and read up on the perks that come with being a G&G. I can't promise you any more time with him, but there are some cool things that moms who are not on N4M wish they knew! Click on the hyperlink: Grad & Go Info

Oh.... and congratulations to you, your sailor and all the other sailors who passed BS-21 today!

I recieved my "i'm a Sailor call this afternoon also. Ship 10 Div 253. He says he is a Grad and Go. He wont have details untill first of the week. I am so relieved. Although I would love to have the whole weekend, I am thankful that my son will go directly to his next step of training.

My son made a few post on Facebook also. So don't worry it was him.

My son made the "I'm a sailor" call to his girlfriend, yep that kinda hurt a little to be honest.........but I have a question, I got a post on my facebook wall supposedly from him, but I've always been told they have no internet access at all, so I have a feeling its something his girlfriend did. Anyone have any idea?.......Anyway I am so very proud of him and everyone else in division 254!

I just read some of the comments/concerns in the discussion above about Grad & Go's. It's not Gloom & Doom ladies, there are perks that you have to look forward to!!! Honestly, I've been through it. PLEASE go read the info on the Grad & Go Info group, it will help. My son was told he was leaving RTC at 2am on Saturday, turns out they changed it to 5am and his plane didn't leave til 1pm, some sailors didn't fly out til 3pm. AND..... you can hand them their cell phones at the airport - instant contact forever more! Those who are not G&G can't be handed a phone, so their loved ones have no contact for another week or so. Check out that group!

Congratulations Ship 10 Div 254. Way to go. I got my "I am a Sailor" call today about 1:30 from my son. He sounded happy and tired. I am so proud of all the recruits. Can't wait until 7/30.
