So they will both need permission, she is going into the Navy in November, She is trying to get in earlier so she won't be far behind him. She is the one that got him to join. She already signed up b4 him and he left 1st. She just graduated H.S. in June. They are both Aviation.

nnylear - so, you may have a future daughter in law??? Just remind them that it needs to be a long engagement! They can't marry until after he finishes A-School - and then he still must get permission from the Navy to do so. The USN is not your typical employer!

Update on my post below about Division 242: Their PIR date is 7/9 (today), not 7/1 - I type too fast!

Being a Grad &Go is not all bad - there are actually quite a few perks! And everyone I know who has had a G&G says the same thing I do: Don't make or change your travel plans!!! Still come out on Thursday and stay until at least late Sunday afternoon.

The Navy can change their minds at any moment - and often do! Your recruit isn't handed their orders until about 1 to 2 days before PIR - some don't get them until that morning before the ceremony. Need more info? Click on the hyperlink (blue underlined words) Grad & Go Info

Well, who knows it's his Girlfriend telling me this. He asked her to marry him in a letter. Don't know if he will get down on one knee when he sees her or not.

Have not heard that? Yet? Strange with all of them going in different directions? Some staying at GL, some going to FL? hmmmmmm All Grad N GO?
Great lakes must want them off the property PDQ! LOL
Look for Sobe's Grad N Go Posts.. info there even if they are staying at GL for A school. if they are Grad N Go? It really is not all that bad? We just need to be a little more creative with our celebrations.... I will take every minute I can get!

My son told his Fiance that his whole DIV was Grad & Go. Did you hear that any of you from Ship 10 DIV 254? Just want to know so we can prepare a different way.
