He was gonna be a corpsman but his recruiter messed his paperwork up, so he got moved to undesignated. Not really sure about that. Hope I find out over the weekend. I'd love to move just to be closer to him.

I know how you feel Lyndsi mine is an Advanced Sonar Tech, and his school after boot camp is 16 months, so it was a huge relief to know I still have some time to get used to the idea of him being deployed... I am so grateful for that extra time we have!

What is his career choice? Depending on what he is going to be doing his school after boot-camp can take up to a year! My Aircrew man is about to start Air rescue school, and im moving to Florida on friday to be with him. We got another 8 to 11 months to be together before he gets his new orders :) all so exciting.

Having a son takes my mind off of him being gone, trust me he's a hand full. Lol.

Well he can be deployed for quite a few months at a time.. 9 is the longest I've heard. So boot camp is really not too bad as far as being apart...

I know its a BIG responsiblity. Im more than ready. Him being away at bootcamp made me actually sit down and THINK about everything. My major concern is us being financially stable. I think we can work out the rest of the issues. I hope we dont have to be apart for too long after he's done with BC. There is no other person i would rather be with and share the rest of my life with. He's my very BESTFRIEND. I love him unconditonally. We've been through ALOT these last 2 and more than half years. Just cant wait to see what our future holds.

My fiance had already enlisted and was in DEP when we started dating, and honestly it held me back from being able to begin a relationship with him because I wasn't sure if it was something I wanted to handle. It is hard and every day is a challenge but it's also very rewarding to love someone you are so proud of and it really makes you cherish the little things even more... for example the letters in boot camp, the phone calls when you do get the chance... and honestly I would rather share my life with him and only have him around some of the time then be with someone else who I can be with all the time. In every relationship, military or not, people need to make sacrifices and compromises, but at the end of the day I go to sleep knowing I have an incredible person loving me and that is what's most important.

being a military spouse is no joke haha. It's a lot of work. I think everyone soon finds out that it is very hard to be able to communicate your thoughts/feelings clearly while your sailor (or recruit) is away. It takes a lot of patience and understanding to wait for them. A lot of trust to be away from them while they are in school and getting some freedom. Most importantly I think it takes a lot of maturity to be able to consciously make a decision to be with someone that has a more important commitment and a higher priority than to be with you. I have been dating my sailor for almost 3 years now and we have been married for 7 months. He has been in the Navy for 16 months now. It has been the hardest, most grueling, lowest point in my life. There were days that I didn't know if I could take it anymore. But going through all those bad days has made me a stronger person and a more independent person and most importantly a more understanding and patient wife and a stable and secure mother. The Navy changes our men in many many ways, some good and some bad... but it also changes us and impacts our lives. If it weren't for the Navy I don't know how I'd be able to sufficiently support my son. It's a long long road that never gets easier, only different. So buckle up and get ready for one hell of a ride!
