Hi Moms! Well it seems our kids are pretty well adjusted and dealing well with being away from home for the holidays. I just got Devin's mailing address so his Christmas presents are probably going to be at least 2 weeks late so maybe he can celebrate Bufona! I actually wrote that in his card! LOL! He has plans to spend the weekend with his friend Stephanie that lives over on the other base for the holiday weekend - it's both of their first Christmas's away from home. He seems to be in great spirits and has called me from his skype almost every day (he is having a hard time sleeping so he's up late and that works out calling home but I worry about him getting over tired) It's not even been a week yet though so I think he'll adjust!

Hi Carrie, yes Stephen told me he invited her and that he would pick her up. I am glad she is going it is important to be with other people when you are so far away from home. He said he got some of the rugs and towels I sent him for his new place. I know he works the next day, so I wonder how long he will stay up. LOL You know us moms always worring. Sorry she did not get to see Capri but she will one day. I wish I could skype Stephen he does not have internet yet, not until January. I miss seeing him, but he is going to try and call. I hope you have a wonderful Christmas, I know it is hard not having our children home but they are good and happy. I asked Stephen maybe he could come home next year and he told me he would try, so I will keep my figures crossed.

Good morning all! Devin arrived in Naples on Friday evening! He didn't find his sponsor at the airport but found a buddy from corps school there so he got a ride with him, when they got to his housing his sponsor was there looking for him! She arranged a nice dinner out for him with several people he knew and some more that he was just meeting, he said it was wonderful and had a great time. His sponsor it taking him around today to get what he needs done. We've been able to speak a couple of times over the weekend, he really likes it there! Certainly helps that he has several friends, and he already went to a birthday party on Sat night! And he already has plans made for Christmas! Makes it easier on me knowing he is happy and not homesick, takes the hurt off my heart that he's away for the holidays. :0)

LOL Stephen flew Delta, it was not so bad, but his flights were late so that made everything late, I guess Stephen was lucky. Yes he will make it and everything will be fine. What base is he on?
