Well if you are close to me we have to meet for coffee but I know you will be busy that is the problem, there is usually no extra time.  You know I got  a Capital One credit card and there is no charge for using it overseas, they do not charge you for the change rate so we use the card all the time.  So if you spent $40 your charge was $40.  Even if you cash  in money for Euro at the NEX you received less money, but you can us our money on base so that was nice.

LOL - ok, I'll save quarters then.  I know the EURO and Italy is expensive and since I don't like vacations on a budget I might have to make that dollars!  I also have a wedding in the 'burbs in March so it looks like I'll be traveling your way in the Spring.

Pam they do have a subway and McDonalds out there but Stephen will not eat at either anymore. LOL  You are coming to IND so close to me, LOL yes I did notice you said OLDER sister.  That will be so much fun.  I know two years was long but we were hoping he would come home and he just could not make it so we went there and you better save quarters and not pennies. LOLOL  I love to canoe too, we have a john boat that is nice with just a tiny motor on it.  Brooke that is a great name, I love the sound of  the water running over rocks, it is so peaceful.  You will love visiting Europe, never thought I would go there but it was wonderful.  We went at the end of May and was there for two weeks, we had 10 days with Stephen because he did not want to meet us in Paris that was ok, my daughter speaks French so she wanted to go and as long as we were going that far why not.   I love the water also Pam, out place in MI is on the St. Joseph River we love it.

My plans to visit are tentatively set for next August.  I have family in Ireland and have a cousin that is getting married the middle of August, 2012.  So, my plan is to go to the wedding and then fly down to Naples and spend time with Jamie.  This Wed. will mark 9 months since we've seen him in person (LOVE Skype though).  I don't know if I could go a full two years!  So now I need to start saving my pennies!  My oldest sister (Debbie - she still lives in Dyer, IN) will be turning the Big 50 (notice I said OLDER sister LOL) and we're going to make it a birthday trip for her!  Should be fun and memorable to say the least.  Looking forward to trying a Guinesss and some authentic Italian food!!  Although Jamie did mention he misses chain restaurants.  Ha, ha..

Our next venture is going to be a canoe.  We have a 5 year old and thought about going with a kayak, but with her we need to keep her in the middle.  She loves our boat and loves the water.  In fact, we named her Brooke - loosely a water name, becasue we spent so much time on the water when our boys were younger.

Stephen was talking to the guys yesterday in Naples, so he will keep in touch, yes Stephen is still on fb so  they will talk.  San Diego is suppose to be such a nice base and beautiful.  We can always dream right Carrie!

Hi, you bet I cannot get this smile off of my face, LOL  We had a wonderful time, did a lot of fishing, Stephen and his father always have a bet who will catch the most.  We went to dinner one night and had a camp fire, we played cards one night, it has been a long time since we have been together like that.

Carrie I was telling Stephen about Amber he says she went to a place that is very unorganized, but I did tell him she is enjoying working those hours and enjoying her time off.  I wonder if she knows Stephen is gone?  I know they both have been so busy and then Amber left I don't think they had spent a lot of time together lately.  I am glad I bet her she is so nice.

Sherri my son is an IT and was in Italy over two years, he traveled and saw wonderful places.  We went to visit him also we started in Paris and went the Naples and then Romes what a wonderful trip, you need to go, you will never forget it.  What was so great was you saw how your sailor lives and how safe they are on bases, that made me feel really good, I did not have such a heavy heart when I left there and it was almost two years since I had seen my son so it was time.

Sharon, I have been thinking of your son and he is in my prays and thoughts, keep us updated, ok!

Hi Pam, how are you? I love the water too, we kayak a lot and love boating, one day we will have to meet.

He's MC (mass communications) so he will be in and out of the area constantly from what I understand.  I still am thinking next year sometime during the summer.  I have a daughter who graduates HS in May so the spring is totally out.

Welcome Sherri!  What is your son's rate?  Mine is a Corpsman.  I haven't been there yet, but a couple of the other ladies have.  I would love to go, but everytime I start getting serious about making plans, my son says he may get deployed.

Good morning all!  My son just got to Naples at the beginning of the week, and I have to say it's odd not even having him on the same continent!  Just joined in December of last year and now that he is done with BC and A school, he lucked out and got his wish to go to Naples.

Has anyone been there to visit yet? I'm thinking next year but always hard to plan that far ahead.

I am horribly spoiled, go out on the boat just about every weekend to a nice little island just off our coast and wander the beach with my dog looking for shells.  I have bowls of shells all over the darn house!  LOL

Devin is in Kuwait, got a call from him today, he sounded good, should be in Afghanistan some time next week.  Says everything there is brown and dusty LOL

Have a great weekend y'all, think I can see the glow of Debbies smile all the way down here!  :0)
