Hey y'all!  Well, Devin leaves Naples tomorrow morning to start his deployment adventure.  Heading to VA first and then off to have Army combat training before heading to Afghanistan in mid-September.  I am ok with all of this so far but I'm sure it will kick into my brain real soon where he is really going.  Hopefully all will go well and he will be back in Naples in May!  Hope everyone has a great weekend!

Pam, I didn't see your first post, thanks for the welcome. Heard from my son twice this week. He sent a quick happy birthday, amazing how they mature and remember their moms. It made my day!  Today he said he is hoping for a day off this week to go to Venice. Glad he is getting some time to see the sights.

Hi everyone!!

Carrie - I know you're probably beside yourself right about now waiting for Amber to come home!!  Enjoy!

Sharon - welcome back!  You're probably just catching your breath!

Debbie - Hope you found some cooler weather up in MI.  Heard from my sisters that between the heat and rain, it has been pretty bad up there!

Got to skype with Jamie this past Sunday.  I have come to the realization that my husband and I have become the Sunday call to Home.  We used to do that with my parents and my Dad did it with his parents.  How funny to realize, well have it smack you in the face really, that your kids are grown!!  We were even checking Jamie out and realized how much he is "filling" out.  He'll be 22 in November and has lost all his baby fat!  LOL....

Have a great week everyone!

Carrie I am so excited for you that Amber is coming home, it is about time it has been a while. that is so nice you spent the day with Danika, you have to spend time with the kids whne you can. Yes Samantha saw that movie with her friends and loved it. Oh your weather does no sound so good, just take care of yourself.
Pam that is so cute your daughter wants Jamie to come home. She is little and does understand why he does come home. I know my daughter is looking for a job and so far no luck so I am glad that Stephen has a steady paycheck coming in. He has to decide if he wants to reup by Novermber so we will see.

Hey y'all!  I'm back to the real world again.  Dev headed back to Italy on Friday afternoon, all the kids where home during the time he was but staggered their comings and goings a little bit.  The silence is deafening at the house right now.  He will be back in the states early August and I am hoping to go see him off when he leaves for Afghanistan in Sept.

We had a great time, I am tan, tired and broke!  LOL

Feeling for y'all in the midwest, heatwave looks awful!  We are actually cooler down her in FL with highs only around 90!  Be careful!

Not much to report, I here Devin was at Amber's going away party on Sat night :0) told him to give her a hug for us!

Ok - gotta get back to work here, hope y'all are having a great summer!

Those phone calls come in and it doesn't matter what time of the day or night!!  Although I missed a Skype call on Sunday. :(

I keep seeing reports on that dust storm Carrie.  Holy cow, I've never seen so much sand/dust!  We finally went down into the 80's over the weekend, but the heat is headed back up and we'll be in the high 90's again the rest of the week.  I remember years ago when Chicago had a really bad heat wave that killed hundreds of people.  Very dangerous.

Debbie - my little Georgia Peach misses her big brother so much.  She told me the other day that Jamie needs to come home from the Navy and stay home.  She's only four, so she doesn't understand what exactly is the Navy!

I just found a Cake in a jar recipe on the CarePackage Group.  It sounds really neat.  Have any of you tried that?

I did not hear from my son right away. It took him time to get settled and to catch up on his sleep with the time change. Don't worry she will be fine. What base is your daughter on? Lots of questions to you LalacJoe.
Ladies try and stay cool it has been very warm here in Chicago also and boy we could use rain.
My daughter turned 22 on Sunday and Stephen called her 3:00am., lol well he said he could call, that was the only time he had, she was glad he called she misses him.

LOL - WI-Mom, I had a post here to you, but accidently deleted it!!  Trying to answer the phone, type and read at the same time doesn't always work.  Gosh, one of those days!  If you get notifications from this group, you should be able to see what I typed (think), but it goes along the lines of I'm glad your son made it ok and he will see and do some amazing things in Italy!
