Hi everyone!!
Carrie - I know you're probably beside yourself right about now waiting for Amber to come home!! Enjoy!
Sharon - welcome back! You're probably just catching your breath!
Debbie - Hope you found some cooler weather up in MI. Heard from my sisters that between the heat and rain, it has been pretty bad up there!
Got to skype with Jamie this past Sunday. I have come to the realization that my husband and I have become the Sunday call to Home. We used to do that with my parents and my Dad did it with his parents. How funny to realize, well have it smack you in the face really, that your kids are grown!! We were even checking Jamie out and realized how much he is "filling" out. He'll be 22 in November and has lost all his baby fat! LOL....
Have a great week everyone!
Hey y'all! I'm back to the real world again. Dev headed back to Italy on Friday afternoon, all the kids where home during the time he was but staggered their comings and goings a little bit. The silence is deafening at the house right now. He will be back in the states early August and I am hoping to go see him off when he leaves for Afghanistan in Sept.
We had a great time, I am tan, tired and broke! LOL
Feeling for y'all in the midwest, heatwave looks awful! We are actually cooler down her in FL with highs only around 90! Be careful!
Not much to report, I here Devin was at Amber's going away party on Sat night :0) told him to give her a hug for us!
Ok - gotta get back to work here, hope y'all are having a great summer!
Those phone calls come in and it doesn't matter what time of the day or night!! Although I missed a Skype call on Sunday. :(
I keep seeing reports on that dust storm Carrie. Holy cow, I've never seen so much sand/dust! We finally went down into the 80's over the weekend, but the heat is headed back up and we'll be in the high 90's again the rest of the week. I remember years ago when Chicago had a really bad heat wave that killed hundreds of people. Very dangerous.
Debbie - my little Georgia Peach misses her big brother so much. She told me the other day that Jamie needs to come home from the Navy and stay home. She's only four, so she doesn't understand what exactly is the Navy!
I just found a Cake in a jar recipe on the CarePackage Group. It sounds really neat. Have any of you tried that?
