LilacJoe - My son did not contact me for about a day and half and then it was just a quick email to say he made it.   Their cell phones from the States do not work but they have access to the internet at a cafe on base.  The cafe closes around 5:00 or 6:00, so with our time difference (Naples is 6 hours ahead of our Eastern Time zone), it makes it hard.  If you know the name of the hotel, you can always call it.  You have to dial 011 039 to call Italy.

What job will your daughter being doing?

My son sent a short message and says Italy is awesome! He doesn't say what he is doing or has seen but I'm glad he is enjoying his time there. Yesterday was a beautiful summer day here in Wisc. today the humidity is coming back and I guess it is going to get worse. Have a great day!

Happy Wed. to you too Debbie!  Hope your week is going well.  We are in the middle of a unbearable heat wave with 98% humidity and I am never one to say bring on Fall, but boy, would I like a nice comfortable 85 degree day!

Wi-mom, Venice, that is nice. My son has been there but we did not go there when we went to visit my son. How is he liking it? My son loves Italy and has been all over, so many wonderful places to visit. It took a little to get use to but he loves it.
LOL Pam, tell him no more shoes. LOL It is not ez to just go out and find a Target or Kohl's, LOL you are a nice mom.

Hey all!  I've been on vacation since June 30 and have to go back to work on July 12 (tomorrow).  Boy, it's going to be rough!!  It just so happens that in June I had Fridays off and then July I have Monday's off so it worked out well for me!!  ha, ha... I'm going to be soooo tired tomorrow..

Hope everyone's Sailors are doing well.  Private messaged a little bit with jamie this morning.  The kid is going to make me go broke sending his shoes he left behind.  He has a shoe fetish and worked at Footlocker for a year before he went into the Navy, so he has a LOT of shoes.  But, I do believe this next box should be the end of it.  Hopefully.  He has a problem getting mail sent to him from Amazon, so he sends it here and I have to forward it on to him.  At this rate, I'll never be able to afford a trip over there to see him.  Ha, ha, ha..

Have a great week everyone!!

Sharon - How'd your visit go?

Thanks for the welcome! My son is an AD with a squadron, works on plane engines. He is on an AFB near Venice, Aviano I think? Just wondering what it's like in Italy and what they do if they get time off.
