Good for you Carrie, how wonderful is that. Give her a big hugs. I would love to wrap my arms around my sailor.
Talked to Stephen on Monday doing good but very busy. My too Pam would love to see my sailor, our day will come.
Hope everyone had a nice 4th.
Oh Carrie! I know your frustrated. Aargh!
Sharon - enjoying the visit? LOL - or should I even ask?
Happy Fourth of July!
Funny how our kids are all about the same age! Jamie turns 22 in November. 1989 must have been a really good year. LOL. Jamie has a Corpsman buddy that just arrived in Cuba a few weeks back. He said he is loving the weather after having spent several months in San Antonio for surgical tech school. I see pictures that he posts on FB and it's beautiful. However, it is CUBA! Yikes!
Debbie, Jamie's orders are for two years, but we know they can extend that on him at any time. I think he might be ready to come back stateside after two years though. I know I'd love to have him in the same country. But I can wait. I want him to travel and see as much as he can while he can. I'm not sure if he'll re-up after five years. Time will tell.
Sharon - I can feel the excitement down there!! So close!
Have a great day everyone!
Pam - the 6 months thing isn't always in stone, my son was in Naples for all of 30 days when he got deployed the first time! He was sent to Haiti after the earthquakes.
Yes Debbie, he volunteered. I think his 2 best friends finishing their tours in Naples got him thinking about being there another year and a half and like Carrie said, he's a surgical tech and not a lot going on at the hospital. Besides, they can only live life like rock stars for so long, you know, traipsing about Europe on their long weekends off! LOL
They may be bringing them home but they are still shipping them out just as fast as far as I can tell. Dev was originally going to be at Kandahar Air Field but his orders say he's going to be at a FOB. Can't remember which one and is probably best I don't. Did you know you can look them up on the computer? OMG! Scary!
So you will be able to Amber Carrie? That's great! She and Dev will have lots of stories to share when they get back to Naples :0)
