Thanks Pam, I thought it was really cool. Ok, here comes the ran I don' want anymore for a while. We had rain again last night, well at lease everything is green.
You ladies probably know.
Sharon your son is coming home for a visit I am so happy for you. I know you are very excited.
Pam it is finally get warmer up here but lots and lots of rain, pretty soon I have to build a boat. LOL
Thanks Carrie. Three months? Holy moly. Marine's are the bomb! He already knows he's going to Parris Island and leaves at the end of the month. I also found out that they have a forum called marinemomsonline.net. I will pass on the information about Family Day.
Camping in the mountains actually sounds refreshing after spending four nights in South Georgia where it was stifling hot. We literally spent the entire day on our boat Memorial Day because it was too hot to go hiking or biking. Just had to stay in the boat because alligators are pretty prevalent in the waters down there! Ha, ha.
Not too bad here, I think the high today is supposed to be around 94. I like the heat, hate the cold so you will never hear me complain in the summer :0) Now winter, that's another story! LOL
I think because we are on the water, we get a bit of a breeze which makes the heat seem less oppressive. I'm all for shorts, t-shirts and flip flops as my year round attire :0)
Well, I might just have to check out Ormond Beach! My husband will never know since we've never been that far down on the Ocean side. I've heard about Amelia Island and it is on my list of places to go, along with the Keys! You guys are in the thick of the heat now aren't you? It's hot as heck here in Atlanta. Upper 90's all week. Better than being cold though.
We are in New Port Richey which is a little north of St Pete area. We live on the Pithlachascotee River and it's about a 10 minute boat ride to the open gulf :0) in land miles we're about 3/4 of a mile from the gulf.
One of these FL trips you should try out Amelia Island, right on the FL/GA border it's really nice and I think it has enough to keep your hubs happy and the beach is peaceful enough to sit and enjoy a good book. I love it there. Daytona is pretty commercial but oh, the ocean - it calls to me! :0) We usually stay a little to the north in the Ormond Beach area when we go over there for Bike Week, close enough but far enough if you know what I mean. :0)
