Thanks girls for the wishes, he is going to the bar on base tonight, he worked this morning but off this weekend.  I talked with him this morning so that was nice.

Carrie I bet she loves the kitten, the kids are so close to age aren't they.

Pam, it will always be Sears Tower to me, how did you like it. LOL You really get a view from up there, I am glad you had a nice time, you were so close to me, would of love to meet up.  You went to St. Louis I would love to see some of your pictures.

OMG that show was so hard to watch I cried the whole hours.  LOL  Those poor kids missing their dad it was very had to watch, it is on again this Sunday.

Happy Birthday to your son Debbie!!   Just returned from our trip to Chicago.  We ended up "swinging" by St. Louis and touring the infamous Arch.  Kinda neat.  Then the family party last Saturday and then spent the day Sunday in Chicago and did the Skydeck at Sears (Willis) Tower.  I know I've seen a lot of pictures of it from other bootcamp graduates going into Chicago, but WOW was it eerie.  No, I didn't step into that little glass box 103 floors above the city.  I'm not one to be afraid of heights, but it made me nauseous.  My four year old had no fear though!!  What does she know!  We ended up doing 1705 miles in five days time.  Phew - I was wiped out!!

I didn't get a chance to watch the Coming Home show.  I get soooo emotional just watching people (kids are very hard) seeing their loved one's come home.  Definately a tissue alert!!

Sharon hope Dev is feeling better soon.  It is almost a year since we went to see Stephen you will love it there, it is quite a trip.  Did anyone watch that new show called Coming Home I cried the whole hour.  It is about military personnel coming home and surprise someone in their family, usually it is their kids, it is really something to see.  We miss our kids but the poor wives and children not see there mom or dad for over a year, has to be hard.

Hi, how is everyone doing?  Stephen's birthday is the 10th and he will be 24, I cannot believe it.  I mailed him his gift and he got it in a week, now that is really good.  I have been so busy lately going to Florida, the weather was perfect in the 80's everyday and then off to MI.  I will have to ready back but I hope everyone is ok. Stephen is trying to get on to the USS Witney(sp) it is going to the Mediterranean, it is a big communication ship.  The bullet was for E5 he is an E4 but put in for it anyway.  I hope he stays on land.

Nanlast - haven't been there yet, planning on going in September, may now be going by myself seeing as hubs is not working for at least 6 wks with this bone infection :0(

I will ask Devin if he's met Elizabeth and if not, he needs to!  His buddy Jeremy did mention today that he had dinner with one of the girls last night and the new girl she is sponsoring, are you from the DC area?  Devin is allowed to move off base now, his rank is high enough and he's been there long enough but he says it is so darned convenient to just walk the 5 minutes to work and he although he'd get a housing allowance he kind of likes not having to worry about all the stuff that comes with living off base.  He is there until Dec 2012 so who knows. he may change his mind but thus far he's pretty content where he is.

Oh, guess what!  Incase y'all hadn't heard, it snowed in Naples today!  Devin said he woke up to snow this morning!  Kind of a rare there from what I gather!

Hope your son feels better soon Sharon.  I had mine taken out when I was five (many years ago!!), but I hear they now just "burn" them off.

Nanlast - my son is a corpsman too, he's a surgical tech at the support base, lives in the barracks right next to the hospital, he is on a 3 year tour there (surg techs apparently stay a year longer) he loves it!  He's on a med leave right now for a week, he had his tonsils taken out on Tues but I will have him on the lookout for a newbie named Elizabeth!  They are a tight bunch the corpsmen, she'll be just fine and if she's as adventurous as our kids, they have been seeing lots of Europe on their time off!  Of course, I about fell over when the day after Devin returned from Greece riots broke out in the very place he had been, even have pictures of him there!  They need to be careful of where they are going and what is happening around them, that is for sure!

Ok - babbling on here, y'all have a great night!

nanlast - it took a couple weeks before communications started for us.  My son had to get internet hook up in his room first and then he bought the magic jack so that we can talk and skype.  Did you ever find out if she was going to be on main side or capo?
