Pam I am in Alsip so I live right next to Oak Lawn. Jamie finished his EMT class good for him, now he moves on to the next step. Well let me know where the party ends up at.
Sharon, hope everythings turns out, poor man. He has a great nurse so he will be just fine. It is so hard when the kids are sick and you cannot be there, we still want to take care of them, the Navy better do a good job taking care of our sailors.
The first thing Jamie asked for was his Georgia Bulldogs throw rug from his room at home when he got to Italy!! So a definite yes on the throw rugs! If you go to the US Post Office website, you can actually order a case of those FPO/AE boxes and they will ship them to your house. And it's all free, the best part! It took almost two weeks for mine to arrive, but now I have a box for every month he's there! Jamie has only talked about two bases over there. Capo and Main Side.
Pam what part of Chicago, it is very cold here now, I will ask for some warmer weather for when you come.
Welcome nanlast, my son has been in Italy for around two years and loves it. He is an IT and lives on Capo base.
Hey ya'll! Been a while since I've posted, hubs had to have surgery on his thumb and has a bone infection and I have been running all over to Dr appts with him. Not to mention it has fallen on me to clean and pack the open wound (left that way to heal from the inside out) and administer the IV meds (6 weeks of antibiotic through a pic-line) Not to mention he can't do a thing so you know who gets all the extra chores! I'm beat! Hope everyone is well!
Welcome new moms! My son spent the long weekend in Greece, loved it! Today he had his tonsils taken out and will be on sick leave for a week. Poor kid, wish I was there to make him jello! He has really good friends that are taking good care of him though :0) we skyped for a few minutes this morning.
Hope everyone is keeping warm and safe with all the crazy weather going on, won't rub it in but it's finally nice here, sunny and high 70s :0) Hugs!
Jamie has finally finished his EMT class! Yay him!! Now he said he has something called the registry. Not sure what that is yet and haven't had a chance to talk to him! Sometimes work gets in the way of my life! Ha, ha. Hope everyone is having a great week.
Debbie - I'm headed up that way in two weeks. My Mom's family is having a birthday party for one of my Aunts (in Chicago). Hoping for warmer temps, but since it will only be the first part of March, highly unlikely!
Awww.. Debbie - been there and have had to do that and it is heartbreaking. So sorry...
Not to make you jealous or anything, but it is going to be in the 70's by Friday! I love Atlanta weather.
