I think Norfolk is where he'll be leaving from. Goodness, if he gets stuck there, he's going to drive me crazy!! I think I better go with the unlimited texting plan! I can't thank you ladies enough for all your help. You have been so helpful with my questions. I'm trying to pay it forward with the Corpsman A School group. Since Jamie graduated at the end of September I have a handle on that process.

I have to agree, we have very handsome and pretty sailors over there. Stephen got stuck in the airport here. His flight came in late and he missed everything, two days he finally made it over there. He had a terrible sponsor, good thing he had a friend there. YEA!!! Sharon you son is coming I know you are very excited!

Hey y'all! Hope everyone is well!
Pam - my son had to go back to Norfolk and catch a military flight to Naples, he was delayed there for like 3 days before finally flying out. Once there though his sponsor picked him up and took him out to a wonderful dinner with several others and he was thrilled that he actually knew some of them already! And as far as pretty girls, from the pics that I see that my son sends to me, our very own Navy had some pretty striking young ladies over there! In fact the guys are all pretty handsome too, was thinking maybe that was a prerequisite for getting stationed there! LOL
46 more days till I get a hug from my son! Whoo hoo!! Have a great day y'all!

Pam you have to have skype plus Stephen puts money on skype and uses his phone through that and it cost around 2 or 3 cents a minute it is great and well skype is great and it is FREE. We use skype all the time. He is going to love it there. Stephen did date and very good looking girl over there, so there are many.

Hi Sharon, Carrie and Robin

I can't remember exactly what he said when he was home in October, but I believe he said he was going over on a Militray transport. He finishes up mid-December with FMTB training with the Marines and then his orders said he has to report to Italy after Christmas.

Robin - he was saying it was "free" leave. I told him if he came home for 30 days, he would be bored within a week but he said if it were free he was going to take it!! I've talked to him about the passport and he is applying for one. So am I for that matter just in case. I didn't realize they cost so much though. We skyped all the time while he was in A School and he has one of those phones that does everything. The young 20 somethings are so into their technology. I just added texting and internet to my phone. Did not want to pay the extra, but I find it easier to communicate with my boys by texting!! My husband and I were married at 20, so I've always pounded it into my kids' heads to live a little before they tie themselves down and I think it backfired!! He may find a pretty Italian girl, but his track record shows it's usually only a month or so! He's so bad..

Sharon - an arm and TWO legs?? LOL - Gosh, I guess I get just one call then!

Pam - it costs an arm and 2 legs to call on the phone but if your son gets a phone with internet on it over there he can use skype to call home and it's very much cheaper. Droids and I-phones are quite the hit with Dev and his friends. :0)

That makes sense, Robin - thanks. jamie is a very single soon to be 21 year old, so I think the biggest thing on his plate is getting his phone over there. He keeps teasing me he's going to find an Italian wife!

We are getting closer to the time Jamie leaves for Naples. He's still at Camp Pendleton doing his Corpsman training with them! He had heard that he may get 30 days leave before he heads overseas. Something to do with getting your business in order. Has anyone else heard about that?

The weather was really nice over the weekend here in Chicago. We have been very lucky with the weather so far. How did it get to be November 1st. already!!! Hope everyone is doing good.
