Sharon that is the hardest part, they make friends starting from bc and then on to school and then the ship or base. Stephen keeps in touch with a few of them but has made many new friends in Italy. He is very lucky he can talk to anyone, and so that makes it very ez for him to make friends, not everyone is like that.

Carrie you are home, I cannot wait to talk to you and see your pictures so I can relive my trip to Italy. I know you had a wonderful time!!!! I bet it was hard to live Amber, it was hard for me to leave Stephen.

Nope - they're all corpsmen, one is heading to C-school in San Antonio and I don't know if the other has found out where she's heading to yet. They've been friends since A-school but Dev went to C-school first so he got to Italy 6 months later than them and because of the schooling (he's a surgical tech) he was assigned there for 3 years instead of 2 years. He's made some really wonderful life long friends thus far, I know it's not going to be easy to say goodbye but I remind him it's only until the next time you see them, you're young and can travel!

Stephen is leaving in May I wonder if Stephen knows them. Are they IT's? Probably not! Robin says it is a nice base also and only a 3 hour flight for me. LOL I hope Devin gets what he wants, that would be great. Yes I have heard it is an older base that is what a sailor told Stephen who just left there and is not in Italy.

Hey y'all! I was actually at the Mayport base yesterday! I am doing a bid and was right there, it's not too bad really as far as yes, it's older but it is in such a wonderful location! Had lunch at a place called the Sanddollar right across the water from base, had a few sailors in there having lunch too! Some time in the future I wouldn't mind Devin being stationed there, only takes 3.5 hrs to get there from here but I want him to see as much of the world beyond FL as he can too. He put in to go on a humanitarian cruise on the Comfort in May, it's for 6 months. His 2 best buds are leaving Naples in May and Dev will be there until Nov 2012 so I think the cruise will break up the time there a little for him. He enjoyed it when he was in Haiti. Of course if he gets the cruise that will change my plans for a trip over there in Sept as it's a 6 month deal! Oh well, we have time! :0)

He has to sell a car and motorcycle in Italy. LOL And if he gets a ship right away he wants to send things home to us, I told him no way I have no room for another bed I told him to sell it, I will take his TV, a lot of sailor sell their items and not take it with them. Well we have to wait to see where he ends up. I am glad you like her boyfriend that makes the difference. Do you think one day they will get married? That is nice to have your own washer and dryer right there to use. Let see Carrie has been gone for a week on Wed., she should be coming home soon. Last time I talked to Stephen he had not met up with them yet, I hope he get to meet her she is delivering a hug from me to him. LOL I would love to hear about her trip and see some pictures. Maybe she has a few of Stephen.

OH I did not know that, Stephen thinks he will get housing allowance. They told him to find someone on the ship he gets along with and get a place off of base, that is what a sailor told him who was stationed in Mayport for a while. Stephen will be an E4 when he gets to his next base. He does not want to stay on the base anymore. He also told me that they will take away pay from him because you get payed more overseas. He does get $10 a day for food there because there is not where for them to eat, well I guess you already know that. LOL Well we wait until November he should know where he is going again. That is nice for your daughter to be able to stay for 7 months. So she has a stove she can cook if she wants, that is nice. Does it have a washer and dryer also? How do you like her boyfriend????

I will let you know if Stephen gets the medal or not.

Well he just found out that he lost the Florida base and had to pick 5 more picks. What is up with that, so he should find out in the beginning of November. He has to go for another full body scan for the kidney stones, they just don't want to go away.

Thanks Robin, two of everything. Well he does not leave Italy unitl april or May, I am hoping he is home for his sister's graduate from College that is at the end of May, that would be so great to have all of us together. Robin Stephen said he might be stationed on the ship and not have a place on base right away. He wants a place off of base he says he does not want to stay on base anymore, we will see what happens. I know you said a bad work Robin Christmas. LOL

Sharon I had heard that Mayport was nice but Stephen said he heard the base was very old, but at lease he would have a place to eat.

Great job Steven! Debbie - I have been told that Mayport is the best kept secret in FL as far as the Navy goes, I hear it is a wonderful place to be stationed! :0)

Hi, talked to Stephen he has not met Carrie yet, he thought they were in Rome, so hopefully he gets to get together with her and Amber.
