Stephen cannot put in for leave only one month before he wants to leave. What is up with that. I am so glad Dev is coming home.

I got it the USS Farrugat, it is in dry dock now. His first 5 choices where turned down he could not go South or West, so no HA, Washington the state, San Diego and no Japan and he cannot stay in Italy (he did not want to anyways).

Sharon he has put in his order and he received his verbal orders to Mayport, Florida, he will be on a destroyer, but right now I cannot think of the name ofthe ship. LOL Mind it the first thing to go. LOL

Pam it helps so much to have someone to talk too does it. The ladies here are so great. They are so far away we need each other.

Yes they have to have a passport, they do not want everyone to know that they are military.

Thanks Robin - boy do we all need a learning curve! I am so very grateful for this site and the advice offered and given! I will let my son know. I've also tweaked my user name a little bit. The security thing really has me thinking and checking over all my pictures and whatnot.

Robin - thank you so much for the information. He had a sponser contact him already, but when she found out he was going to Capo and she was at the other clinic, she said he would be contacted by someone else. I'll tell him about the Tourist passport because he's under the impression that his military ID will get him where he wants to go. His 21st birthday is next month and I would love some ideas of what I can get him.

Debbie - thanks for your words of comfort. I'm sure I'll be leaning a lot on this group come January.

Ruth - Jamie was scheduled to go to Italy this month, but then the Navy changed his orders and now he has to do FMTB before he can go to Italy. He made it to Camp P. last night. The quietness has descended on the house again. I always said when Jamie was home, everyone knew about it because he is so loud! LOL

Have a great day everyone and thanks again!

Debbie - tell Stephen not to wait too long to put in for that leave - Dev already put in and got approved for Dec 20 - Jan 4 and has his tickets to fly home already. Not too bad, $1200 round trip out of Naples rther than having to go into Rome.
He didn't mention the bomb guy to me, he knows it would just stress me out. But I figured something was up when he said they were staying close to base. The way I figure it, he's surrounded by the US Navy, how much safer can he get?!
I sure hope all this stuff doesn't put a damper on Carrie's trip! Dev tells me it's starting to get cold there. Mind you, he's a FL boy so anything under 75 degerees and we're wearing sweaters! LOL

Pam, it is so hard when they go that far, but skype is a life saver. I think you kind of get use to it. I know I had a heavy heart for a long time but going to see my son in Italy in May was the best medicine. I know he is safe on base and I got to see where he lives and works. Now when we talk I know what he is talking about. It is amazing what our sailors get to see and do, it is things you and I have never done or seen so how great is that for them. Pam we are here for you anytime, I know your son will love Naples and I believe he will be on Capo which is the base Stephen is on.

Sharon, yes Carrie is gone. Have not heard from her, I bet she is having a wonderful time. Stephen sent me a site with new saying the arrested a man with a bomb kit in the Naples train station, Stephen is carrying a gun on and off base for now. YIKES!! I heard France was also having problems. Don't worry about Dev moving off of base. The Navy will check it out and have to aprove it. He will love it and he will be just fine. Stephen loved it, he was in a gated community which was nice. Keep us updatd on Dev. Stephen is seeing the doctor again this week so maybe they can try something else. I wondered about that also Sharon, maybe it is something he is eating, I know he drinks a lot of water so that is good. I am hoping Stephen comes home for Christmas, he is waiting to put in for his leave so we will see.

Hi Robin!
